For my broken/herniated back problems, I went through 4 velcro-fastened elastic back braces. The velcro DOESN'T LAST! I also used a fanny pack (too thin of a strap in the front). I had considered seeing an upholstery/seamstress to put a brass zipper, or similar durable fastener on one of the elastic braces, but decided not to go for a Band-Aid to poor design. Solution: Buy something that is going to last, has a forever-secure fastener, doesn't need suspenders...a quality 6" padded double buckle-prong weight belt. So far, I love it! Comfort: like all 5 other things I have tried, this is NOT designed to be worn directly against your skin, the additional strap-loop retainer will pinch you. So, wear a t-shirt under this and then conceal it with any other garment you choose to not look odd out in public outside of the gym. Inspiration: Wearing a "weight belt" can change your mindset to exercise more :) To do those routines your physical therapist recommends, vs only using it as an easy fix for pain for the inactive...make it a tool for a better you, so you won't need it as much, and maybe even ween yourself from it (hopefully).

I just received this belt and I was impressed by the padding on the inside on the wide part of the belt. The hardware is heavy duty. This is a replacement for a J&B Leathercraft belt that I have been using for years. A very fine USA made leather belt. They are still in business,but Amazon doesn't carry that brand. The construction of this belt is good, not as good as the J&B, but should last a long time. Time will tell. The only downside to this belt is, that the sizing is off. I measure 37 in at the navel. So I ordered the size that was recommended by the maker. Wrong!, This belt is so long, I have to cinch it up , using the last holes. If I lose a little bit of the fat on my stomach that has been aquired over the last couple of years, this belt won't fit. I need to exchange this belt for the next size down, which is a large, not an xl as recommended. I have sent it back and await my credit, then I will order the large. Update; XL returned, ordered L and received it. I measure 37 in at the navel. The Large fit perfect. Put on, I have four holes left and five if I get fatter. Another factor in belt sizes, is this, this leather is thick and stiff new. After wearing it for a few workouts, the leather has softened a bit and I was able to tighten it another notch. That is why you want the belt to fit in the middle range of adjustment. I give it five stars if it was make in the USof A, but it is made in China.

For the value this sports belt provides comfort and stability especially in the gym! I highly recommend this belt over any other belts on the market which in some cases are 7 or 8 times the price! A.Lanz

Great quality, does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I was a little sketch of the quality but I’m a fan of the old school leather belts and this hits every mark! Would definitely buy again especially at the great price
