Good helmet speakers!
These are the first helmet speakers I have tried and they had the highest rating on Amazon so I decided to try them out. They are decently thin and fit underneath the padding in my helmet. If your using a modular helmet I can see these being difficult to hear as those are usually noisier. I am using these in a full face helmet and they work great. Sound is good enough to enjoy your music and hear it too. I also bought Fiio E6 but I haven't hooked it up yet so I have been running these using just my cellphone and Pandora. At full volume on my phone they are TOO loud so they do work pretty good. You can easily hear them over traffic and even the wind on the freeway. You have to make sure that they are centered over your ears, as if you were wearing headphones. You want them in the same position. I managed to get them perfectly over my ears and they stay there. After about 5 minutes of wearing the helmet I don't notice them anymore. Cord was easy to route and the break away in the cord is nice so I can tuck the jack up into the chin area on the helmet when not using it. I recommend putting them UNDERNEATH your padding. If you don't then your ears are likely to get pretty sore from taking the helmet on and off. There is still an uncomfortable point when removing he helmet but otherwise it is manageable.BTW, I ride a Triumph Daytona 675 with a Leo Vince factory race exhaust that is freaking loud but I can still hear my music. Sound quality will depend on how you have them centered over your ears.UPDATE: I received the Fiio E6 headphone amp and have nothing bad to say about the combo. The in helmet speakers only got better. Increased bass response and vocals. Music is clearer and you can turn it up quite a bit more if you need to drown out lots of road noise.

Not bad for the money
Not bad for the money. I put them in a Bell Qualifier helmet and they made it a bit more snug around the ears but not bad. I hooked them up with the Mpow bluetooth device mounted in my helmet and can't complain. Volume is ok for my bike but bass is still lacking. I don't think you will get great bass with this kind of speaker no matter what you buy.

gotta find the sweet spot
I ordered these earphones to install in my modular full face helmet. Installation was pretty straightforward and the instructions were understandable. It took a while moving the speakers around to make them fit my ears correctly but once I did they were fairly comfortable. I still noticed they were there though. As for the sound, Great! the cables and connectors are sturdy and weatherproof. I think the system will stand up well. Great sound, good product, recommended!

Fail
Ok not even the low cost can be considered as value for the Motocomm Thumper-1 helmet speakers. Any earbuds would be louder than these 'thumpers'. Granted, having speakers instead of buds poking your ears makes for a much longer and comfortable ride. But if your goal is to actually HEAR your music, this idea is a fail. Not even my amplifier could help raise the sound. Not even sitting at idle (Ninja-ZX14 with OEM exhaust in a Scorpion helmet) could add more sound. Trying to listen to these speakers while riding is pointless. You would be better off riding along side a car with their windows down. Save your money and get some Ironman YURBUDS. The yurbuds sound even better than the Bose buds for half the price. And if you want to hear the traffic around you, just turn down the volume or ride with just one bud. My 2-star review for the Motocomm Thumber is a warning. Look at the Ironman Yurbuds if you want great sound during a ride.

Good for the money
Mainly just use for listening to directions from a GPS. It's much safer and convenient than constantly looking down at it when I think a turn is coming up. For any such system, you need a quiet helmet and windscreen for music, unless you like it painfully loud anyway and have the required amplification.

These did not fit well in my helmet. They are quite big and the sound is not that great. I purchased these to replace the ones that came with my Scala rider Q3 hoping to have better sound but it was not the case.

Been using these speakers for about a year now. The sound is great! I've connected these to my G4 and to my Sony Walkman MP3 player. Volume was more than adequate on my Vulcan 900 doing 75 mph. I gave 4 of 5 stars only because the coil wire had a short in it near the 1/8 connector when I received it. I replaced it with one I bought for $3 at WalMart and it works perfectly.

mixed feelings
I attached these in my helmet. I loved them at first. The sound was great but the wiring began to come apart at the connection. I rode about an hour round trip to work and back about 20 times before this happened. The concept is great but the wiring left a bit to be desired.
