It can be taken apart to clean. But the marble, if oil spills on the marble, forget it.The temperature is trial and error learning. and at times I've thought I've turned it off or down and went the wrong way. at least no oil fires.... the benefit to this.This grill doesn't quite work as well at getting the oils from the meats as id like. Its not a completly usless grill, just didnt do as well as i'd like.Get the full metal one. The marble is really just a pain. unless you do plan to cook shrimp or fish.

The grill and stone plates don't sit plush on the frame slides off very hazardous may cause burn accidents
