I found this product through Urthbox. Whoever repackages and sells it in the US, claims they are directing more money to the communities in Mozambique that grow and roast the cashews. I am all for that and will pay more so that the people doing a lot of the real work get a real income form their work, since we couldn't have the product without it and they deserve a real income. The cashews are great and this companies price is very reasonable. I can only hope their claims are true.

As somebody whose innards cannot tolerate either gluten or dairy - I can tell you how difficult it is to find a nut manufacturer that can guarantee that their products contain neither. This is almost always because of shared equipment with something in their product line. The Sunshine Nut Company assured me that their products are free of both allergens - and I have had no problems at all. The added bonus is that the cashews are delicious! Fresh, crunchy and flavorful.

So I used to order these all the time. Favorite flavor "spark of spice" and the net carbs were somehow 1 gram per serving. That seemed impossible and this time around I have realized that the net carbs are more true to cashews in general at like 8 net carbs per serving. I feel a little mislead but I knew better honestly. I watch ingredients pretty closely and these are still labeled all good. I have a little trust issues with it now since the carbs have somehow changed so much but the taste? AMAzing definitely delicious.

I purchased a different brand of spicy cashews at a convivence store while we were on a road trip. They had good flavor, but they were SUPER SALTY. I found these while searching for an alternate and will make sure they are stored in my pantry from now on. The flavor is great - just the right amount of spice and salt. I loved that it came with two good sized pouches so I could have one at home and one at work.

When I read the name of these cashews, "Spark of Spices," I was really hoping for a flavorful blend of spices. These cashews are tasty, but there is nothing complex about the flavor, all I get is salt and a little hot pepper (like cayenne). The heat from the pepper is very mild, definitely tempered for an "average" US palette. I think these would be better named "Hint of Heat." Would I buy them again? Probably not, because they're not my thing. But, would I recommend them? Sure, if you are looking for a lightly spiced cashew, these are great for you.
