Good sturdy 8 and the ears allow you to lock off. Bought two of these for my two sons and they love them. They are bigger than the mini 8's but have several great features.

it works at the start
it works great until the hard coating chips. after the coating chips, it will undercut the aluminum and fuzz your ropes.
