Very handy!!!
Works great to contain those troublesome short strips of negatives that don't feed very well. I seem to always have a strip of negatives that contain only two images. This holder makes processing those items a breeze!! Highly recommend this product.

Excellent quality and design, but unfortunately it's not "universal" as stated.
The thickness of the holder is more than the holder for my scanner and positions the negatives outside the focal range of my scanner, resulting in blurry scans. I return it reluctantly since it's easier to load and flattens negatives much better than my stock film holder, a very well-made item.

Very light duty. Hinges pop out of place too easy. Hassle to mess with

Well worth buying -- even if you're only scanning one negative from a strip
The Magnasonic FS71 film scanner comes with a holder for scanning a single 35mm (135) negative -- typically, one neg in a strip of several. But that single-neg holder has a big problem: It doesn't hold the negative firmly, so the neg can move around. This six-negative holder doesn't have that problem.I didn't buy this set of four strip holders until I was sure I wanted to keep the scanner. This is so refreshing to use: Line up the first frame, press the Capture button to preview it, then Capture again to make the scan... then repeat until you've done all the frames. I scanned five negatives in less than a minute.Tip: Of course, you don't want to hold the frames in your fingers (because that makes fingerprints, which -- due to the acid in your skin, can eat into the negatives and permanently damage them). You can buy white cotton gloves (which are not cheap), or you can get a box of plain white facial tissues (no "lotion" in them!) and use a tissue in your hand to align the frames to the holder. Look through the holder at a lamp so you can check that none of the frames have a blank white border (which will look black in the finished scans). And give a good spray from a can of compressed "air" to blow off any dust before you put the holder into the scanner.I didn't give this five stars because it wasn't very easy to align the negative strip exactly into the holder (without any blank edges).

Ad says fits all scanners, didn't fit my Plustek 7200
Sent it back as it didn't fit

Unsure of this item
The good stuff: this item holds negatives securely and it is solid and well constructed. The bad stuff: I get big reflections from the frame of the negative box that impinges the quality of my scan.

Hard to open after use
Works just fine. Ideally would be better if it held 8 images. It's a bit difficult to open as the catch mechanism is hard to unlatch,

Not Universal
Listing says universal, but they’re not. I noticed that the notches on the side don’t line up with the film holder I already have, but also this film holder doesn’t even fit in the 8200i that I have.Other than that they feel well built, but saying universal is a terrible thing to do just to get people to buy it.
