I got several vein finders:- Veinlite LED Plus - Rechargeable Transilluminator Vein Finder- Venoscope II Transilluminator Vein Finder- Rechargeable Vein Finder Viewer for IV Access Phlebotomy, Handhold Vein Illuminator- FDA Registered HGVF637 Vein Finder- Infrared Vein Finder Viewer - Handheld Vein LocatorOn my skin, at least, the best performing was actually the very cheapest one (the no-name "Infrared vein Finder Viewer" which is a small loop of white plastic with an angular handle). It cost less than 1/8th the expensive VeinLite LED Plus. It is the highest contrast, and is also the lowest weight since it is AC powered instead of battery powered. For my use, that is not really a down side.

Amazon sent me a returned item that was listed as "new". I can tell by the box packaging that this was a returned item! Besides, I charged it and is not turning on.You guys should verify this item if working or not before sending it to me!

I like the product it performed well you can actually see the vein. The only problem I had is it gets hot. My wife has sensitive skin it was just too hot her to use. I'm not saying it's that way for everybody, my wife it was a little too hot for her to deal with other than that it works as advertised.

Item arrived on time and packaged well, however the light becomes EXTREMELY hot after less than a minute of use and is a definite burn hazard. Otherwise, the light works well but I may return due to the safety implications.

I use this all the time to be sure of a venipuncture or IV placement. Works great if they don’t have visible or palpable veins. Only thing I would say is that it’s not cordless and the cord is very short. Need a cord extender to reach the patient if they’re not ambulatory.

This vein finder is amazing! I am an infusion nurse, so this was bought as part of my mainstay in my nursing bag and I do not regret choosing this model!The round design is great at finding deep veins that other types of vein finders can not find. This design is also helpful with mediports. I have a patient who is particularly nervous with getting her mediport flushed. I had the idea of holding the vein finder over her port so that she could see it. It worked better than I could have even guessed! We could make out the stems of her power port! This patients anxiety has now greatly diminished when it comes time for her monthly port flush.I have used the horse shoe shaped portable viewfinder as well as various hospital types and this little but mighty gadget is tops!

Didn't work (at all) when I received it, and flimsy. Seller very prompt and helpful. Refund was no problem.

We use it for blood draws. So far it’s 100% accurate in locating usable veins. I haven’t used the more expensive ones but this all we need. The only draw back is that it has to plug into an electrical outlet. Not a hindrance for us. Well worth the money.
