Most Authentic-Looking Hanbok on the Internet at This Price Point
I'm 5'4 (163 cm), and the skirt (I got the medium) is a bit too short. It should pretty much come down to the ground, but on me you can see my ankles. But it's a beautiful, beautiful pink color, lighter than in the picture (at least on my computer screen), but I actually like the color way better in real life than in the pic. I got this hanbok thinking I could pair the skirt with the pink jacket of another hanbok (that comes with a blue skirt) I bought from the same manufacturer, but they don't match because it turns out the skirt on this one is lighter pink. Luckily, it turned out that it did match the pink jacket of yet another hanbok I got from the same manufacturer. I just love hanboks that have a pink skirt and pink jacket. Also, the blue jacket does match the blue of the other hanbok they sell that has a blue skirt and pink jacket. The ribbons should be sewn closer together. I think whoever designed this pattern (probably a Chinese person, not a Korean), didn't realize that traditionally, Koreans tie bows with only 1 loop, not 2. The sleeves are cut curved on the bottom, the way they're supposed to. I have yet to find any other ready-made hanboks on Amazon that include this all-important detail, but it really goes a long way towards making it look authentic. The shoulders and sleeves are also cut straight across, not sloping downward like on Western clothing, which is also authentic. I would like the jacket to be a little smaller around the chest and shoulders (I'm 120 lbs [54 kgs], and the sleeves a little longer. You'll have to wear a petticoat underneath because the skirt is quite transparent, but you're supposed to wear a petticoat anyway, but not everyone has a hanbok petticoat lying around. Love the embroidery. I think the ribbons are too long. Makes the dress a bit unwieldy when you're going up stairs.
