Hoping it works
UPDATE.I have used it everyday since I installed it. He hasn't fallen once! Love this. I just need to get him a bath mat so that he has better grip.** haven't used it yet, but this is for the install. So I feel like although it seems straight forward, instructions would have been great. My purpose for this is so that 12 yr 120 lb mastiff mix will have a better time in the car...which he loves. Right now my back seats just aren't big enough for him to fit without falling down.I only want to put up one side because the back gets hot fast and the only source of air, besides Windows is in the front ac. Also he needs a ramp to get in and out and one seat has to be down So he can walk to his seat. So trying to figure out how to fold it with the chair attachment was hard for me lol. Folding it the way I did left the other seat attachment in his area. Which gives me 2 problems...1. He will get one of his paws caught in it. 2. My pit will eat it. So I wish there was a slit in the middle so I could use it either side.I also wish there couild be an attachment for the seatbelts to secure the side towards the back seat. Since I had to fold it a certain way, I lose out on the fabric tgat I think he will have better grip on. My solution is to put a bathmat.Overall I like how sturdy it seems. I think this will help with him falling.I try it tomorrow with him riding so I will update.

Safety
Had to slam on the breaks one day and my dog fell onto the floor tearing her nail to the fur. Luckily we were already on the way to the vet. I ordered this the next day. It is slippery without something down for traction. My dog is 90# and uses the floor to get onto the seat. The hammock covers the floor. I can't lift her, so I brought out her hassock that she uses to get onto the bed to get onto the hammock. When we went on vacation, I put both of her beds in there and they fit perfectly. She was able to walk around during a long road trip without being tethered to one position like the seatbelts. Since the hammock goes clear across the back of the front seats, she would be less likely to be thrown during an accident. She did get car sick once and it was very easy to clean up. She is 90#, walked all around, and this held up very well during a long road trip. Anytime I take her anywhere, I put it in the car. I do throw her bed in simply because it gives more traction. Blankets slide around. If your dog gets in the car and lays down and behaves, blankets will be fine. She has to wander all around and she's not very graceful.

Versatile fit
So far this has done pretty well. I have tried this in a Sonic, Traverse, and a Crosstrek and while a bit snug for width in the sonic it fits. The suv it did fit perfectly! This is pretty easy to switch to other vehicles if you don't use the extra lower anchors. I personally find those useless and just a pain the mess with.My dog is much more comfortable now and i found i didn't need pillows underneath to support it. If you have a really agressive seat angle you may need to though. It doesn't seem to retain dirt or hair at all, so hair will fly off it all over with the windows down. My pup seems to prefer a thin crate mat over this but she's a wary princess.

Durable, well designed, but slippery fabric for my dogs
This product is nearly perfect. It fits in my small SUV (an older Rav4) perfectly, and really does allow my dogs to use the entire back seat area without impeding the storage space on the floor. It feels really durable, and I have no concerns about it getting torn up from claws. My only complaint is that with the type of material it's made out of, my dogs can't find their footing when sitting up - their paws keep sliding forward. I happened to have a rubber standing mat in my car and put that on top and a towel on top of that, and it's a pretty good setup now. But it would be nice if there were grippies or a material that wouldn't make them slide so much. I do like it enough, however, that I would likely buy this again in the future and modify it .

Dog Shell Barrier - Great!
This is what i've been searching for but I am going to have one custom made thru Dogshell as it doesn't quite fit my Kia Soul back seat. it would work as is ( just a bit big in spots) but since i like it so much i am going to have one made for a perfect fit. this is exactly what my large dog needs. he loves to stand and look out the window which causes him to constantly fall forward and he will not keep a harness and seat belt on. this will give him the security he needs as well as protect my brand new seats. what i really like is that i can actually put a dog bed on the barrier or anything else that he likes such as his favorite blanket. i am more than pleased with the quality of this barrier. i would definitely recommend and the company has awesome customer service as well! thank you!

Good product but could use a few improvements
This fit well in my 2012 Explorer. Durable fabric. It could use a few improvements for the price however. The clip buckles that allow you to secure straps to back of seats are a little cheap as are the straps. The male part of the clip slid off one of the straps when I stored the cover after a trip and was lost. It's nice that the straps are adjustable but it would be nice if there was some kind of restraint to keep it from sliding completely off. Also there are no openings (slots) where the cover meets the base of the back seat so you can't thread a seat belt restraint through. You would have to cut your own hole in the fabric to make this work for that type of restraint.

Big Dog Approved!
This product fit our needs perfectly. Lugging an adult Great Dane across the country on a road trip, we wanted our cargo area free for our luggage, whereas usually it'd be full of dog. We were able to have him ride comfortably in the back seat, near us and the cooling vents and fit all our gear behind him in the cargo space, as well as some under this backseat cover in the foot wells of the back seat. Having read a few reviews about sliding, we bought a large bathmat with rubberized back and put that between the seat cover and his dog bed -- it also means we could travel with him and leave the dog bed behind, as he's got a bit of extra comfort.130 pounds of dog, no signs of wear or tear. Folds pretty flat -- we can leave it in the back seat and put those seats down fine. The straps are strong and don't seem to be damaging the leather of our seats, either. We have a Nissan Murano (2016) and the cover fits beautifully. If you're looking at backseat sling/hammock style covers for transporting pets, I highly -- very highly -- recommend this product! 3200km with the Dane, that's about all the proof you would need that it works!

Dogs love it.
DogShell Seat Cover fits perfectly in my vw golf. I have two big dogs that need all the space in the back and this bridge fulfills that. My only minor complaint is the cheap, plastic buckle clips that came with it but this can be replaced with a sturdier one. This is a must if you like having your dogs in the backseat instead of the cargo.
