Good pump for occasional use.
I had no issues with the pump. It sucked my honda civic system down to-30 very quickly.Ran pump for almost 1 hour straight with no overheating or cutting out. I will say it was 50 degrees outside when I used it.Pump makes some strange sounds when running however it did a great job. After 10 minutes or so the pump was not putting out any mist. The way I understand the manual once mist stops them moisture should be out of the system. The oil that's included was a little more than needed to fill the pump so I have extra if ever needed.Good pump for the occasional users.

Works on my freeze dryer
I bought this as a backup vacuum pump for my Harvest Right freeze dryer. The pump failed and I replace it with another Harvest Right pump. That pump failed after two runs and was returned. So, I put the Kozyvacu pump into service. It's worked like a champ ever since. I did have to run to Napa to get fittings to make it work with Harvest Right. The new fittings required removing the check valve which means you need to operator the Harvest Right the way you would if the HR vacuum pumps check valve fails (which is a very common occurrence).Pros:1) Price2) It works. It gets a small HR to 500mTorr in 4 minutes and a medium HR to 500mTorr in 8.5 minutes.3) It's much lighter than either the JB or HR vacuum pump.Cons:1) No check valve2) Draining the oil for filtering is messier than with either the JB or HR pump.3) It vents oil vapor on startup. Less than my JB ever did, but more than an HR pump4) You must buy additional fittings (Napa has them for $12)5) Works on both my small and medium HR freeze dryers.I don't know how long lived it will be but I'm about 6 months into owning a HR (a small from HR and a medium that was a derelict I found on Craigslist) and I’ve gone through 2 vacuum pumps. The JB with the Craigslist machine was a basket case to begin with, the new HR is still functioning but a backup HR I bought failed after 2 uses. I’m happy with how the Kozyvacu pump works, but it’s not perfect and requires a small amount of disassembly to add the correct fittings. But otherwise it’s a great value and seems robust so far.

Quiet Little Pump
The pump arrived on time, and as usual was well packaged. It has only been able to pull my empty vacuum chamber down to -25.5 Hg, but that may be due to my lid seal. I plan to change out the lid seal and retest the vacuum pump. The pump looks good and quieter than I expected. When running, it does produce a very fine mist from the exhaust/oil fill port. I’m told this is completely normal.I’ll post a more in-depth review once I change the lid gasket on my chamber and do a few stabilizing batches. This will be the more in-depth review of the Kozyvacu TA350 after using it numerous times.I have been using it to pull vacuum in a 4”x12” clear PVC vacuum chamber that I built for wood stabilization. During my first runs, I thought this pump may not be able to do the job as effectively as I had hoped. I’m happy to report that is not the case. I’m not sure if it was the crazy Oklahoma weather conditions, the refinements I made to my chamber, or a combination of those, but I’m now able to pull vacuum down to -30 Hg, which is what I’m told is nearly perfect vacuum for the wood stabilization process. Not only does this little vacuum pump seem to be operating better with time, the fine mist I mentioned has stopped. All in all, I’m very pleased with this purchase, and would not hesitate to buy this same pump again. For less than 60 bucks, delivered to your door in a couple of days, this vacuum pump is the “Deal of the day” for anyone like myself who would rather build their stabilization system than buy a complete setup.

Works well, but not as well as the nameplate says.
I've been using this pump for a few years primarily on vehicle AC systems. It has held up well with regular oil changes. HOWEVER, the best vacuum I can pull is 130 microns with a CPS VG200 connected directly to the pump. While anything under 500 microns is considered acceptable, the rating plate on the pump claims to be able to pull down to 37.5 micron (5pA).It does the job to get well below what is considered acceptable vacuum in the automotive and residential HVAC industry, however it would be nice to have a specification plate that is actually true. I'll ding a star for that, but have nothing else negative to say. Decent little pump for the money.

Lemons may exist - mine worked great
I read the negative and average reviews. I was really concerned about buying a potential $60 paperweight.I used this way too many times in the past two weeks and am very satisfied with the results. Drop test - passed. Multiple uses - pass. Recommend - yes.I had an accumulator’s schrader valve stick which caused a leak. I have tools to replace the valve while leaving the system pressurized, but this required the accumlaotor to accept the valve and the replacement schrader valve to also be good. Fail and fail. Anyways enter the replacement accumulator and first attempt. The pump worked great and pulled a perfect vacuum. The motor was hotter than expected, but no issues. Charged the system and everything was roses and smiles. Two hours later and after a loud sound of rushing air, I discovered a spring fitting on the new accumulator failed and I lost my charge. Reset the connection and it passed the pull apart test. It appeared solid. Vacuum number 2 - worked great. I turned after pulling the vacuum and promptly sent the pump off the radiator falling to the ground. I got lucky with no damage to the pump or gauges. The gauge line sort of softened the fall.I began to recharge the system. One can in and I had to deal with another issue. Pop goes the same spring connection. Lesson one: don’t buy crap aftermarket AC stuff. Poor quality control. Bought a Motocraft and installed it. (Fit perfect)Vacuum number 3 and everything is still working great. The pump ran for over three hours in 95+ degree weather over the three vacuums. No noticeable oil loss. Solid vacuum. Met my needs and then some.I suspect there will be lemons in any process, but this one worked very well for my needs.
