Harmony House Dried Jalapeno Peppers – Dehydrated Peppers For Cooking, Camping, Emergency Supply and More, 6 oz, Quart Jar

I purchased this product for use in making venison hot dogs. My goal was to have the amount of heat that I wanted while simultaneously having adequate heat but not being full of seeds, which can be daunting as many times, the seeds add heat. Upon first examination, the seed count in this product was excellent with minimal seeds visible in the unopened package. Upon opening the container, I did find a few more seeds than I expected, but, they were still minimal and at a more than acceptable level. I partially rehydrated the peppers by soaking in water for about 10 minutes before adding them to the hot dog emulsion. This seemed to be a good amount of rehydration. I read multiple articles and had different thoughts on using rehydrated peppers. Some people rehydrated and some didn't. I was concerned about using them completely dry and having them not soften for the finished product. They came out exactly as I had hoped. The flavor to heat ratio was just what I wanted. I love heat but only if it has good flavor, which this fit the bill as well as I could expect. Shipping was fairly quick and pricing was competitive with other options on the market. I would not hesitate to purchase this item again in the future.

These dried jalapeño peppers are fantastic! I’m not sure what I was expecting, but they have surpassed any expectations I might have had. I’m always buying anywhere from 10 - 20 fresh jalapeño peppers and before they are used up they’ve started to shrivel and wind up being tossed. That’s such a waste. With these, I put a couple heaping teaspoons of the dehydrated peppers in a little bowl and add just enough hot water to cover them and in no time they become nice and plump … ready to add to anything I’m cooking. After trying them, they are certainly going to be on hand in my kitchen from now on. As other people have noted, it’s really hard to find ANY seeds in the mix and I really appreciate that because when using fresh jalapeño peppers I’ve always been very careful to discard the seeds. This is really a quality product and I’ve recommended it to a couple friends already.

I use these along with the Harmony House Onions and sweet peppers to add season to various other dried meals - just keep some of these in a small plastic bag along with other seasonings in my pack with the prepared backpack meals like Peak Refuel, Next Mile, Beyond, Trailtopia, etc. and it just adds some seasonings that make your meal more like you would make it at home - adds to the delight of your tastebuds! Will definitely buy again!

Very tasty and way more affordable than the grocery store bought peppers of the past. I doubt I will ever buy a jalapenos pepper from the store again. Call me lazy but easier than putting on gloves to take out the inners of a pepper and trying to remember not to scratch your face with the seed oils on your hands. I love jalapenos in general and spicy food and I think I will put some in a spice jar so I can just shake it out on my food whenever the mood strikes me which is daily. I can't imagine how many peppers it take to fill up this container but.... alot! This is an awesome discovery for a jalapenos lover.

I'm a big user of Jalapeño flake, and have tried many. I like these the best. Low seed content yields that great Jalapeño flavor without the bitter part of the heat. I made my own Jalapeño powder out of these and it was by far superior to any Jalapeño powder I've tried. Heat is subjective so these might be too hot for some and too mild for others, but the beauty of these is that with the low seed content, if you want more zip just add more and that great clean Jalapeño comes through with it. Ordering more right now!
