It's a nice thick trivet that offers flexibility in use. I've used it as a trivet, and to carry hot bowls of soup from room to room, but I bought it to keep my cat's plate & bowl stable on acrylic stands. Works perfectly since both sides are textured the same, and the best part is that it cuts to size like butter with solid edges (no shredding/unraveling)

I have used silicon pot holders for several years now and really like them. These are a plus. They are well made, even thickness, super heat resistant and uniform in color. They came in multiple colors, This time I chose round and black because I wanted to use them under potted plants as a buffer between the pot and the paint on the window ledge. They are the perfect size and do not detract from the pot of flower color of the plants. They seem to protect my window ledge well just as they do my countertops and table from the heat of pans coming right from the stovetop or the oven. Really nice, won't fray or become tattered with use and unless you do something super exceptionally hot I doubt the silicon will melt.

Use quite a few of these mats both oval and square versions. Square ones are used to place the Air Fryer on to present damage to our granite countertops. Oval are used for everyday grill or oven operations. Can take a little getting use to since the holders are not as flexible as a standard oven mit but with time you get the feel of it. Bottom line, product works extremely well.

We used two of them to put permanently on our Webber metal grill handle, which heats up sometimes to the point you cannot touch the handle without gloves - I installed 3 stainless steel snaps on each of two of them and they are on the handle but can be easily removed for cleaning. The other two are stored under my grill on a hook for use in handling hot objects. Very nice quality, well made.

Hoped to use it as a lid, too flexible but real good as a trivet
