Great brand
Easy to swallow. Good price and quality. Small enough to easily swallow. Not sure they help with pain.

Holy Cow
This stuff works. I was really skeptical about its anti-inflammatory properties at first, but I thought I would give it a try. I take 200 mg of Celecoxib everyday with Tramadol to control ankle pain (previous talar fracture). However, this pain med combo doesn't do anything for my tennis elbow (moderate to severe). Before using curcumin, I used the old RICE protocol with more emphasis on the rest and ice component. I used ice for several weeks with very little if any long term help. It would calm an angry elbow, but later it would come right back. I thought that I would give this whole curcumin (I was thinking it was snake oil) stuff a go, because I have tried everything else (Nitro patches, NSAIDS, kenalog injections, ice, rest) nothing seemed to be working for me.First couple of days I noticed a remarkable difference in my elbow discomfort, but I dismissed this as just a transient comfort associated with not exacerbating the tendinitis. During the time I was taking the pills I experienced a significantly reduced pain in the elbow, not completely gone, but acceptable. I thought that my tendinitis had run its course and I was back to my old self. WRONG!!! When I ran out of the pills, within several days my elbow started up again. UhhhhhhhhH!!!! So back to Amazon I went to get some more. This time I went with Jarrow's Formula to see if there was a difference (other than price). Since then my elbow is lovin' this stuff. So yea, I agree with the other users that this stuff is actually efficacious. One thing that I did do, and I did some extensive research on this, was that you MUST take this product with piperine (Bioprerine), or curcumin may not work. This was suggested on many of the sites that I viewed before my decision and purchase. It enhances the bio availability of the product by 2000% according to the many who researched curcumin.I am not the type of consumer to just buy the cheapest stuff out there, I care about quality. I am a firm believer that anything that NOW Foods kicks out their door is of substantial quality. Source Naturals seems to be another company, Jarrow's Formula two thumbs up, Optimum Nutrition is a top contender. When I need something fast and don't wanna spend time researching the company to ensure of quality products, the above mentioned companies are always top of my list. From what I have read, supplements are unregulated by the FDA, and these companies can put whatever they want in them. So it is up to us to keep warn and inform others about the products and companies.

Seems to be a great anti inflammatory supplement!
Now Foods Curcumin Extract 95% 700mg, 60 CapsulesI'm allergic to aspirin. After a life long use for migraines (from early childhood) all the NSAIDS now give me hives. Acetaminophen is a pain reliever, but isn't really an anti inflammatory. This is one of the recommended natural supplements for pain & inflammation, but since I have allergies to many natural herbs etc. I wasn't counting on good results. 3 weeks & my joints feel so much less painful! I've had no allergic reactions and my Dr. said turmeric is a good thing to take so I'm sticking with it! I have had a couple of migraines, but the joint pain has reduced greatly. I like it so much I just ordered this as a "gift" for a friend.Added 7/29/14: I've now been taking Turmeric supplements regularly for over 3 years, and have very little joint pain (I'm a very senior citizen:). I've been alternating brands to get my chosen amounts depending on which brand & size is least expensive at the moment. Most of my digestive problems have cleared up. One of the only cautions I've seen about turmeric is found in a pdf at nccam.nih.gov/. It cautions those with gall bladder problems about this supplement, but I hadn't read that until recently & am glad I didn't notice that one:) I have many friends with health & health insurance concerns so successful experiences concerning supplements need to be shared these days!I've tried various dosages & for me a 600 to 720 mg at night & a 300 mg in the AM works well (approximately 1000 daily). If I take much higher doses I notice nosebleeds. Medical facilities now list Turmeric as an anti inflammatory that does interfere with coagulation just as NSAIDs do. So, if you are also taking aspirin, ibuprofen or warfarin type med. etc. you do want to inform your Dr. & dose accordingly. It is for me one of the only & best solutions around. It has really been beneficial:)

Got rid of my headaches
Some how I ended up with a torn ligament in my lower back that causes headaches. For months I was putting up with it and decided to give this a try. It did get rid of my headaches but for some reason I get constipation from it. Not sure if counteracts with my thyroid medicine or I have sensitive intestine system but I could not take them anymore. It's a shame too cause it really worked. Oh well........I,m trying something else and seems to be helping as well but with the problems

Effective pain reliever.
I have been taking Now Curcumin Extract for about three months for pain in my knees and back. It isn't quite as effective as ibuprofen, but it is much safer. I take two a day and find it works better if taken with food. My husband has started taking it, too. He feels it helps, but not as much as another product he used to take which is twice as expensive. He doesn't take it with food, though. Definitely recommend it as an alternative to medications that have dangerous side effects.
