Good product!

First one the tamper resistant plugs were so tight you couldn't plug anything in. Second one, one of the usb ports wouldn't charge. I'll be buying a different brand.

As is likely the case with many of us, USB powered devices seem to reproduce overnight and as a result I have ended up with a massive number of power bricks and adapters all over the house. This has led to the desire to start replacing some wall outlets with ones that include high powered USB ports. The Luxtronic USB Wall Outlet looked to fit the bill so I gave it a shot. While a bit handy, I am not an electrician and feel I know when to call a professional for help. I have replaced outlets in the past and was confident I could knock this out and overall found the installation painless. As with any electric work, you will want to turn off the power at the breaker panel before starting, but after that it is just a few screws and moving three wires from the old outlet to the new one.The packaging was very solid and the wall plate even had a protective plastic covering to reduce the chance of scratching or damage prior to installation. Keep in mind that this outlet is substantially larger than most standard power outlets as is the case with most outlets that include USB power. The part of the house I put this in was moderately old and the new outlet literally filled almost the entire junction box requiring me to be a bit strategic about how the electric wires sat so everything could fit. Not a problem or defect, just the reality of what is required to have the necessary electronics to include USB power as opposed to just a traditional power outlet. Before finalizing the installation, I used a USB power tester and confirmed that each USB port provided 5.15 volts and my Motorola phone showed rapid/quick charging. The first time I plugged something into the power outlets it was very snug to the point I feared something was wrong. After the initial plug/unplug the outlet felt normal to insert/remove lamps, etc. I have been using the outlet for about a week now with no issues and am quite pleased to no longer need USB power bricks in this room.If you are moderately handy, I feel the Luxtronic USB Wall Outlet a simple way to upgrade your outlets at a reasonable price.

I have installed a number of similar outlets as this in my home. This one rates pretty high for me. Easy to install and works exactly as described. The only complaint is that the tamper-resistant aspect is a little stiff on the top plug. I'm sure it will loosen up over time, but it requires (in my opinion) too much force to plug anything in, especially a 2-prong plug. Still, it functions well and looks good.4/5 Stars.

This has a conventional decora faceplate instead of screw less, but comes with everyone you need -- easy to install.

I *love* these outlets for things like bathrooms and kitchens where more and more gadgets seem to be USB powered.The install was as-expected. No more or less difficult than any other receptacle.

These are pretty much every day outlets with "old standard" USB chargers, coming in around 2 amps a piece. That said, you can't beat the price for a USB-B enabled AC plug. Similar outlets from major brands are 2-3 times this price.Everything else pretty standard. No ability to split the plug (like one constant power, one switched) and construction is fair. Still, not the best thing out there so knocking off a star but solid at the price.
