Yasutomo Hosho Paper Pad, 9"x12", 48 Sheets with Deckle Edges, Off-White (6H)

Thin, fabric type hand feel, flexible, and quite resistant. I got it for ink marbling (the name eludes me right now...) as recommended, and it works great. When you drop the paper on the water, it soaks up ink and liquid super fast, going translucent - initially I was worried the paper might be too saturated and tear or something, but it was perfect. It also works really well for gelli prints, and I personally prefer it than some of the other typical recommendations for that. I'm not a gelli expert, just a dabble, but I find that with thin paint layers, this paper absorbed relatively fast and all my prints came up clean, which was really nice. (yes my ink prints are bad and tiny squarea, this was me trying to learn)

Lovely paper, very nice to handle and has a lot of excellent qualities, especially for gel printers. Heavier than a lot of other rice papers, so if you're thinking it's the whispy spiderweb type , then be aware that it's closer in texture and weight to teabag paper, also a staple for many gel printers. Well worth trying, and I think you'll be delighted. I haven't tried collage with it yet, so I can't comment on that, but even if it doesn't lose most of it opaque whiteness when glued, it just means the edges might need a little extra trimming before it's glued - there are advantages to both ethereally transparent papers and stubbornly plaque ones, after all is said and done, we just have to learn to work with them and appreciate them for what they are. That being said, there's a lot to be appreciated with this paper. Have fun!

This is really nice paper that’s the perfect weight and finish for suminagashi. The problem is that it was packed in an envelope without anything to stabilize it, so 1/3 of the pages were bent. Lame, Amazon! And sadly, a repeat experience when ordering books and paper. It’s not that hard to sandwich a book between pieces of cardboard before shipping.

Purfect for the gel plate.

Perfect for gel printing. Interesting texture, smooth on one side, and a soft-like, almost velvety feeling on the other. A bargain at 48 sheets. Not sure why they didn’t round up to 50, but that’s ok!

This paper is not the same as the roll. If you are looking to make gel prints, this is the one. The acrylic paint looks shiny and with better quality than the roll.

El producto cumple muy bien mis expectativas, lo uso para impresiones en gel. Lo que está pésimo es que lo mandan en un empaque muy endeble y llega algo maltratado de las esquinas, deben corregir esto.

Holds paint well in gelli printing

I bought this rice paper to use with my gel plate. I was creating backgrounds for future prints or collage paper. This paper is durable and very absorbent. There is a smooth side (which absorbs acrylic paint beautifully) and a bit rougher side. I definitely love this paper.
