I have pretty bad vision
I’m using Siri to write this please excuse any strange words. My vision is getting worse and worse and to use a regular thermometer is almost useless. I hate those things that you have to put the plastic thing over the end and shove it in your mouth. this thing works quick and efficient and tells you your temperature so if you’re hot, you’re hot if you’re not you’re not Face it works great I keep it on my side table in case I just simply feel I’m having hot flashes or I’m freezing. All it does is tell me the temperature and that works great. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I think this will work fine for you. Very easy to use.

Greatcthemometer for the money 💰
I purchased this thermometer for my blind friend who uses it almost daily to record her temp for her home health nurse. Works great! ! She told me that it is so easy-to-use. I am so thankful for this item's value for the money!!

Accurate, it talks, and comes in a nice case
If you are looking for a review of this product which will hopefully offer more than the one or two lines I too often see for Amazon reviews on far too many products, you are in luck! If you are considering this product for a visually impaired person, you are in luck again, as I will explain. This is, after all, a non-contact "talking" thermometer, and I, the user, am totally blind (no usable light perception, so no usable eyesight). This product arrives in a very sturdy little case with a snap-open latch. An unexpected bonus I don't recall being mentioned. Use the product as recommended, put it back in the case, and you should experience none of the potential problems you would encounter if the product were just left to sit out of the case for weeks or months. As I have not yet had a sighted person go through this product with me, I had to do a bit of experimentation before I finally figured enough out to at least reliably capture a reading without having to fumble with the thing for 10 minutes or more. However, this is a design and/or documentation issue typically encountered with products which clearly weren't originally designed for the market they appear best suited for. Sighted persons have been using purely visual non-contact thermometers just fine throughout COVID-19 temperature screenings, so it makes little to no sense that this product was made to talk to ease their lives. Perhaps this is the original reason it does talk, but it shouldn't be. A lot of sighted people I know hate talking products, so this product should have been designed for much simpler independent visually impaired use. If it was, the effort was a failure, as I usually do not have to struggle with such a product for upward of a half hour before I can finally operate it reliably. Is this to say the product isn't usable by the visually impaired? No, I'm just saying you might want to assist them with operation of the product. There are mentions in the instructions for mysteriously named entities like S1, S2 and S3 through S5, yet I can only find two physical buttons. Furthermore, such vague labels don't really help when one can't see an associated diagram pointing them out. A picture can be worth a thousand words or more but is of little to no use by someone who can't see well enough. This is why I don't read very many instruction manuals, because one encounters many such totally useless statements like, "Press the (symbolic nonsense) button or the (further symbolic nonsense) button to …". Those two in parentheses spots are picture images of the buttons, apparently necessary for the exceedingly ignorant sighted persons who can't discern "Up arrow" button without seeing a picture of it from the remote control or whatever. It has to take more work to compose that instruction manual document with all this having to insert little pictures of controls versus just typing [Up arrow], so the instruction manual would then make more sense to the visually impaired. But I digress. Once one does get the general idea of the two control buttons, it is a fairly simple, quick and easy process to grab a temperature reading. And while there is some mentioned range of error for the reading, I generally found the reading accurate enough. I do also have a standard talking oral thermometer to use as a control, and the range of error on the Advocate non-contact was about as is stated, so it is easy enough to compensate for it. Also, my wife has a leading brand of non-contact thermometer many businesses and other organizations happen to be using to screen large numbers of people, and this Advocate product was consistently reliable enough compare to that product. The range of error is still there, but the point is that this product's readings weren't wildly off from that other product my sighted wife has. The Advocate never read 100 one moment, then 96 the next, for example. I never even countered a variance as much as 97.4 with 96.3. More like 97.4, 97.3, 97.4, 97.6. The Advocate does auto power off in case you forget to turn it off, even while inside the case. I have not had to replace the included batteries yet, and I have tried to use the product every few days over about a month. I mention this because another talking non-contact thermometer on Amazon mentioned batteries almost constantly having to be replaced after only a short time. I don't think you will experience that with this Advocate product. The product in its case might be considered bulky by some, but let's remember that the case must be a certain amount larger than the product in order to adequately do its job. I would say this product in its case is about the diameter of a thin but tall pill bottle, so wouldn't take up too much space in a reasonably sized handbag or carry-on, though I would probably pack it in checked luggage rather than having to deal with the TSA on it. So, why did I give it a 4 out of 5? Strictly due to the fact that the product and its documentation could have been friendlier for the visually impaired out of the box. Otherwise, temperature readings seem reliable enough, battery power seems good and there's the bonus of the nice little case. The case is plastic but should hold up well under reasonable care. I hope you have found this review helpful in making a purchasing decision, and BTW, I am in no way affiliated with the product manufacturer or seller in any way.

Nice little thermometer to have on hand
The first one came defective but the company once I reached out to them after a few expected questions they sent out a brand new one which works perfectly. I love all the newer “fancy “ gadgets out there these days and this little thermometer hits that mark. Not only is it sleek looking the color is different then your standard thermometer. The talking feature is great to have for those moments your not feeling well, just point at the for head hold it there until it gives you the body temp. Just don’t move it away to quickly otherwise you’ll get an error message. Now that I have one that works properly, I love it! I work in healthcare and it’s my go to when needed. I would highly recommend the product and the customer service couldn’t be beat They were wonderful and very much into making sure their products work and they’re customers are happy

Reads too low.
I bought 3 thermometers for Amazon that were supposed to be accurate. Every one gave a different temperature with a range of about a degree and a half. This one always reads about a degree below normal or more. This is obviously wrong! Waste of money in my opinion.

Worked great
I bought the thermometer for my dad who is legally blind. It was easy enough for him to use by feel. He is now able to take his own temperature. He is also hard of hearing but he can hear the temperature reading with his hearing aids. The voice could be a little louder. Very glad I bought this thermometer!
