NOTE: I added one star and an edit to my original review, after I found an easy way to pop off the slider to clean the lid properly (more on that later). I’ll get straight to the point about these tumblers/travel mugs: PROS 1. Does a great job keeping hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. 2. I love the bright, cheery colors. 3. Fits easily into my cup holder in my car and stays put. 4. Lightweight and easy to hold and feels comfortable in my hand CONS 1. Both of the “cons” have to do with the design of the lid. Firstly, you have to keep the slider on the lid in the “open” position in order to keep the lid securely on the tumbler. If you close the slider (at least with hot drinks), the lid will, for whatever reason, pop up from it’s snug secure position on the mug and sometimes will pop right off the tumbler. Either way, you’re going to get leaks and spills whenever this lid slider is in the “closed” position if you’re not careful. 2. The second “con” of this lid is that it is difficult to clean if you don’t know how to remove the slider from the lid. After a few uses, stains from coffee and hot chocolate will seep into and build up in the area around the slider on the lid, and you cannot get them out. (The first picture shows hot chocolate formed stains around the slider on the inside of the clear lid.) No matter how I washed or soak these lids, I could not get the remnants of hot chocolate out of them—and I couldn’t find any instructions as to how to remove the slider on the lid in order to properly clean it. HOW TO REMOVE THE SLIDER ON THE LID FOR CLEANING: I finally just took a butter knife and slid it alongside the slider on the lid and then popped the slider right off. (Shown in the second and third pictures) I was then able to clean the lid and slider properly. After the lid and slider were clean and dry, I easily snapped the slider back into place on the lid.

Purchased two of these for me and my mom and they were pretty decent. I did find a major issue with the sliding seal on the lid where beverages would leak through and leave horrible stains and residue INSIDE THE LID. I tried everything from trying to remove the tab to soaking it in dish soap. I even soaked it in disinfectant a few times to see if maybe it could break up the trapped residue and it still didn't work. So far it hasn't leaked when closed and I haven't had issues with hot drinks or cold drinks shifting temperature too quickly. Maybe I am a germaphobe or maybe it is operator error, even so there should be a way to remove the tab to make sure that there isn't issues with build up. Okay, so before posting the review I took notice of some others saying that you can remove the sliding tab. I removed it and the clean was easy however I am still not satisfied with this. The removal required me to pry it with a fork and risk breaking the lid which should not be the case. Over all the cup is nice and the lid can be cleaned well with the risk of breaking it. It has kept my beverages hot for hours to where I would have to wait about an hour before I could even start hesitantly sipping from them. My mom hasn't had much issues with hers aside from the lid issue which both is and isn't resolved. Now I can clean it, but what happens when it breaks?

Keeps drinks hot for a long time. That part gets a 5-star rating, BUT the tricky ability to clean beverage residue out of the lid closing mechanism brought this overall rating down to a 4 star. It requires a house key to put enough pressure on the silicon tabs. I have arthritis in my hands, so that makes it doubly difficult for me. So, either I choose a dirty lid, or I don't use this tumbler at all.

UPDATE: I’m an idiot! The slider is in fact removable for cleaning - I just had to put it in the closed position and push SUPER HARD through the hole with the handle end of a fork to get it to pop off. Like, I stabbed at it so hard I felt like I was going to break it! And it came clean just fine after that! Even the little rubber pieces over the holes are removable - I pried them off with a fork and scrubbed them as well. Everything is mold-free and like new now! And then it just snaps right back into place with enough force! So sorry for the bad review! I take it all back! ————————————————— I am so mad! I’ve been using these consistently for a month and a half, and while they are perfectly leak-proof and keep my drinks cold for the whole day, the lids are getting moldy! And what’s awful about that is because of the design, there is no way to get under the sliding cover over the opening in order to get the mold out! Liquid easily gets trapped in there and if you slide it open and shake the lid, it will come out, but there’s no way to access it to scrub it! It’s just getting blacker and blacker no matter what I do. I’ve tried soaking it, I’ve tried using an old toothbrush to get in there, I’ve held it underwater and shook it, all to no avail! So gross!
