A very nice lightweight bow- recommended
I have two versions of this bow: a 25# and a 35#. The 35 is going to be my go-to and will be one of 2 or 3 bows that I keep out of my nine bows. I prefer bows of 58"-60" and have become a fan of hybrid or reflex-deflex designs. This bow has a medium grip and is very light. I can't speak to the accuracy of the poundage and I don't draw 28"; probably more like 27. Both the grip and lightweight of the bow are comfortable for my old body and arthritic shoulders and wrists. BTW archery has helped me strengthen both. If you draw over 31" I think you should try something a bit longer. I'm not sure Kainokai recommends a draw beyond 31. This is an attractive bow and seems to be very well made. I can't say if it will please everyone but it is certainly worth a try .

Don’t be afraid to buy this bow!!!!!
I own 4 “custom built” traditional bows plus several more production bows that average 3x the price of this KAINOKAI. I saw this bow while searching for arrow building components. I looked at the pictures and read the reviews and thought this would be a fun little “project bow.” Initial impression is, this is a beautiful lil bow. The one I received was every bit as clean and pretty as the pictures here on Amazon. I purchased a 45#@28” model and my bow draws 45#@27”. Which is within standard weight variance of most “production line” bows from any manufacture. The bow’s tiller was spot on so I had no worries of poor arrow flight. The included string is JUNK. I immediately tied a 14 strand D97 string and started shooting this lil Gem of a bow. Once I had shot the creep out of my new string I attached yarn balls and installed my nocking point. Within a couple hours I had an arrow tuned and was centering the bullseye at 20 yards with a 190 grain 1-9/16” Broadhead! To say I’m pleasantly surprised and impressed would be an understatement.I haven’t shot through my chrony yet, but feel confident this lil bow is shooting a 10 gpp arrow at 160 + FPS.I will update my review if any ‘unpleasant” changes occur, but as of right now I would certainly recommend this lil bow to anyone looking to get their feet wet in traditional archery. If the bulk of these bows are as nice as mine then you won’t find more “bang” for your buck anywhere else, and I would not be afraid to head to the Whitetail woods with this as my weapon! Good luck all be safe and may your arrows fly true!

Good Bow
I have purchased a number of bows over the years and I have to say this bow is pretty nice. To be clear this bow is not going to win you a gold medal at the Olympics. It might get you dinner if in a pinch. But or a day at the range just having fun with bare bow archery. This bow is almost perfect for the task.

Beatiful bow
Fantastic bow. Easy set up and tuning. Quiet shooter. Recommend purchasing a better string though.

Great bow
I've shot hundreds, if not thousands of arrows through this bow now and I can honestly say for the price it's an amazing bow. I've got a few bows that were alot more expensive from "better" makers but I've fallen in love with this thing. It has become my primary hunting bow, 45lb bow shoots 550gr arrows at arould 170 fps. Fantastic for the price!

Great budget bow!!!
I've had my 50 lbs bow 1 1/2 years now. Was in great condition when I got it. It has held up well, shoots great, and has good speed, even with a dacron string, which is quieter. Regardless of the cheap accessories, it is definitely worth the price, and every bit as good as my more expensive bows.

So far so good.
So I've been shooting traditional recurve and longbow for a close to 10 years. I've shot very nice and expensive bows as well as ... not-so-nice but still expensive bows.Recently I wanted to tinker with something new but I didn't want to spend more than $200. This little guy came up on my super generic "longbow" search result and I decided to give it a try.At this point all I've done is string it and do a tension check with just 3 shots on my target bag. So far ... it works. The build quality is fine at first glance - nothing special to look at but it's far and away from crap. The string is very basic and will be replaced but that's to be expected. The grip is comfortable but just a little high as my knuckle peeks up just a little past the shelf. The bow arrived in good condition aside from one very small and superficial scratch on the laminate. Packaging was solid. The accessories included are all of a budget quality which is fine considering I have plenty of traditional tackle to compensate. After just a hand full of shots I have no real complaints. We'll see how it performs after we put 100 shots through it.First impression: Buy it. Play with it. Use it to teach a first timer. Keep your expections aligned with the price and you wont be disappointed.Hope this helps.Cheers.100 shot update:The bow works fine. But ... the grip is waaay to high. I can't shoot without taking a feather to my holding hand which after several dozen shots can become pretty uncomfortable. I'd urge shooters with larger sized hands to consider another option.
