Saved our Camping Trip
We found out one of our tent poles had snapped about fifteen minutes before sunset at the campsite. Luckily, I’d tossed this Coghlan’s Tent Pole Repair Kit into the gear bin. Best decision of the weekend. It comes with everything you need: fiberglass pole sections, shock cord, and a metal splint for quick fixes. I’m not the handiest person, but it took maybe ten minutes to get our tent back up and stable. The included instructions are simple, and the parts fit together without forcing anything. The replacement poles are solid. We used them through a windy night and they held up like nothing had happened. I replaced the shock cord in one of our older poles too, and now it’s better than before. Everything packs down small, so it’s easy to keep in the bottom of a tent bag for next time. Pros Complete kit for emergency repairs Strong fiberglass poles and quality splint Easy instructions, even for beginners Compact and lightweight for backpacking Works for both aluminum and fiberglass tents Cons The shock cord could be a bit longer for large tents You’ll want to bring small scissors or a knife to cut it cleanly If you camp regularly, throw this in your gear. It’s one of those things you hope you never need but will be thankful for when you do.

Decent variety to handle most tent pole repair needs
Works as advertised. Quality replacement parts provided in multiple sizes for maximum compatibility with multiple brands of tents. I only needed one part out of this package, but it's good to know if any of the other components on my collection of tents fail, I have the supplies on hand already.

Worked well, be patient when re-stringing
There was enough shock chord for a single tent pole in my old Coleman tent. I will have to buy more shock chord to finish the rest. Glad to have the wire and washers. I don’t know how often I want to do this, a little frustrating to thread the poles with the wire correctly and the shock chord.

Simple - exactly as advertised
I have an older REI 2 person Dome tent. All the shock cord had failed. I had never replaced the shock cord for tent poles and this was pretty easy, just used the wire, pinched the cords, and ran it through. Unfortunately, 11' wasn't enough, so I need to buy some more. That's on me, though, no knock on the product.

Good replacement parts
This worked great. Good refurbishment to my tent poles. Would buy again.

Don't go tent camping without a sleeve and loose shock cords
You can't fix a tent pole without a sleeve. If your poles are out of symmetry, your tent will leak. Why risk it? If your fly isn't tight because the shock cords are shot, your tent will leak. These are the shock cords that fit your tent. That wire thingy. I'm sure it does something. Why possibly run the risk not having an extra wire thingy? This kit, and a bottle of Kiwi Camp Dry spray, bring my 1984 REI half dome tent back to life every ten years. Yes, that is right, I am too cheap to replace a nearly forty year old tent because this stuff keeps it going. Well, that and nostalgia.

Low close solution
Our tent broke, and this was cheaper than replacing the poles. This makes it easy to repair your poles without spending a whole lot of extra money. I was impressed by the quality and the price. This is a low-cost solution to what could be a high-cost problem.

easy to install and works great
I read other reviews and thought this would be difficult to figure out. It was simple and intuitive, even without instructions. You just have to use the guide wire to feed through the poles while utilizing your feet to stretch the cord and hold the poles on the ground. I replaced the cords in 3 tent poles in 30 minutes. The cords fit 17' poles perfectly without trimming and have great tension. Since the tent is over 30 years old, this was much easier than buying new poles to fit!
