Q: Does unit measure rainfall amounts daily?If so, do you have to empty manually?

Yes, Daily, hourly(rate), weekly, monthly, yearly, and it's self-dumping.

Q: Where is the best place to install it outside?

I would aim for somewhere that will get rainfall but not have lots of falling blossoms or leaves. I've mine mounted on a post about 10/12ft high but it can be anywhere outside that gets rainfall. the screen needs to inside.

Q: Can temperature be changed from Fahrenheit to Centigrade?

Yes, the unit will display in either ... I have been very pleased with the unit so far .. (installed JUN22) .. no connectivity issues (transmitter is about 75' from the receiver) and it smoothly records the rainfall amount down to only .01"
