Killed ONE gnat in 3 months: A waste of $
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - These things don't work. This is an update and a downgrade to an already-negative review. We had a serious gnat problem, and I bought these after a friend recommended them to me. I'll keep the friend BUT after 92 calendar days, they have killed a total of ONE (1) gnat. It isn't that there weren't any gnats around to kill (When I first started to write this review, gnats had infested multiple rooms in our house, and from my desk I could see about a dozen of them flying around in our computer room, 2 floors away from the nearest source of food or water.I've watched these, and It is simply the case that the gnats go right by them and never go in to get zapped. I had wanted a good electric "zapper" because I have used one in the past (not these but another brand which got shorted out years ago when lightning struck the telephone pole next to my house) and it worked the way this one was supposed to but didn't.That one was no longer available anywhere, so I foolisly bought these instead. The only good thing I can say about them is that they make good night-light in the rooms where I've put them.I finally got rid of the gnat problem using a good flying-insect spray, a fly-swatter, and old-fashioned, scented fly paper. We dont know where the gnats came from, although we suspect it was on some "pre-washed" fruit that we bought, primarily since the first place we ever saw them was on that fruit... but we still can't be completely certain. In any case, our gnat problem was solved over a month ago, and "retiring" these pieces of junk I was able to find a total of only one dead gnat.Either these were all defective, or this product is simply long on false claims and dead at the starting gate on performance.Definitely NOT recommended unless you want to waste your money (in which case you should opt for the proverbial swamp land in Death Valley instead - It's a better deal).

Works a little, but not great. Not as advertised.
These are supposed to catch flying insects..but they work only a little, only in complete darkness and not near any possible heat source..even a monitor light on an electric power cord 5 feet away. To be fair, a couple of these units worked a little, did get some mosquitos but no large ones and were only about 30% effective. Cute to look at by really not much help in flying insect control. I really wanted then too, tried them at night for about a week.. Sorry seller, I cannot recommend these.

Haven’t seen a gnat since
I ordered these because we have been dealing with drain gnats. I had never heard of them before this year’s extended warm weather.. They seemed to just appear one day out of nowhere. In the recent past, I had to deal with plant gnats. I used a sprinkled killer and haven’t seen one since then. We don’t keep fruit/food out/open, so fruit ones have never been an issue. I knew that something was wrong when I would see a gnat land on my laptop screen in the master bedroom at night. I was looking for a remedy as I don’t want to spray any kind of flying insect killer (even the ones that are deemed safe). After a quick search, zappers came up an option. I had used Zevo sticky lights, but my better half can’t stand seeing the bugs that they catch . As small as they are, I figured that the remains would be minimal. After using these along with pouring a small amount of bleach down the tub/sink drains. I have been accosted by only one gnat buzzing near my ear! I didn’t see any real evidence that the zappers themselves were truly effective as no insect remains were found at all. If anything, they may have acted as repellents instead.

Works amazing
I only had it plugged in for 5 days and it collected all these mosquitoes that sneak inside my bathroom.

Not even worth the low price - Simply does not work
I've followed all instructions and suggestions from the seller and other reviews and these units just do not work. Even in a completely dark room, these units give off very little light - not even as much as a typical nightlight - and the bugs don't seem to notice them. If there is any ambient light at all, these units are almost invisible. I've tried these indoors (garage, kitchen), outdoors (patio), and in the barn in several locations and I have only noticed a couple mosquitoes and no other dead bugs. Even though these are very inexpensive, they are still not worth the price paid.

Not effective! No evidence that it actually kills bugs.
We ran these in an area with a number of mosquitos over a few days. nothing killed. No evidence that they work! Don't waste you money!

Killer of the Texas State Bird for the Win!
Summer time in Texas folks equals an invasion of the gnat/fruit fly (the State bird) its inevitable ....unavoidable.These babies saved my sanity. Simple and easy to clean best if used in a dark room. We put them in bathrooms and kitchen one week later what we thought was something of a biblical invasion of the nasty little buggers turned into a real like Christmas in July Miracle. Gone are the blasted little flying beasts and my sanity has returned.....Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and whatever other thing you believe in does exist its these little bug zappers guys!!! Buy 'em you won't be sorry!
