A Pleasant Read!
I didn't know what to expect from this book. I've watched and admired the author Marzia on YouTube, and hearing about her debut novel and its premise excited me, especially when I saw that it was a psychological horror, a genre I've always wanted to read but never actually have. Now, I'll start with my first impression. I began reading quickly after I bought it, and I absolutely adored Marzia's writing style. I'm not sure if it's her actual writing style purely translated or if it's changed from her Italian original language, but it was a thoughtful style with a wide range of vocabulary. I found myself peculiarly highlighting interesting words from it for my writing myself. Unfortunately, the style rapidly resembled my old style, which is my old writing style for a reason. I found it too tedious to read. The narrative is first person, meaning the reader only hears the protagonist's thoughts. The thing is, this protagonist wasn't a very strong lead for most of the story. I didn't feel very connected with her, wishing she'd act with a little more common sense. The writing then becomes quite dull, as she either expresses no thoughts and all action or an overflow of emotions that it looks ajar and surprising. If you get the chance to read this book or have already read it, I think we can all agree that Amethyst, the main character, can wish to leave her creepy dream house after maybe a few days at most and the plot would still fall in place, closely to the original. It's just irrational, her bizarre thinking. You'd understand if you read it.Other than that, I'd like to mention another thing. I'll try my best not to spoil, as this is the big reveal at the end that half relieves me, but then it also throws me off. There's a part in the very end that didn't connect with what I remember throughout the entire book that made me flip through the pages trying to make sense of it. Maybe I'm just forgetful of the tiniest, overlooked details, which is not usually how I am. But anyway.I actually dropped this book for a while. I started in May, probably, and finished yesterday, in August. The reason why I dropped it for a while was because it simply bored me. I'd forgotten that the synopsis told me that there're more characters, but for many chapters I'm forced to read through Amethyst's mundane thoughts. I only picked it up recently because I was curious to know what happens in the end, flipping to it and having no idea what I just read. And so I read it all. And I've got to say, the suspense may have room for improvement, but I didn't expect the direction the mystery was going and the romance!Even though the romance hints and teases there weren't the best I've ever read, I mean I've ought to give a first-time novelist a break. She did so well for her first novel, seriously! The horror felt like a touch more than the genre, and I didn't expect some things, but that's what made it a fun read, something I could read at night with guarantee of mild nightmares (because honestly I feel like the horror wasn't Marzia's main point). It's not the best book, but it's something I'd recommend to some friends. In the end, I give this book three stars because first off, this is Marzia, a YT vlogger and fashion girl, 's first book. It's really good for a first book. I was intrigued enough to read about fifteen percent in one sitting, and the entire rest in another sitting. I got into it once the other characters and the mystery became deeply rooted. Even though the ending was rushed into a neat bow, I was pleasantly surprised by it and it explained everything. And though I wished the ending could drag a bit more for me to fully breathe and comprehend Amethyst's whole character, along with a few of the others, all of my circling questions as I was reading was answered and addressed. I'll admit, the beginning was slow and difficult to get into, I either got used to it or it picked up somewhere so I got comfortable. And lastly, the story. It had a little bit of a typical idea, but it branched into something interesting slowly but suddenly. It reminded me a but of Coraline at first, but it fizzled out soon enough. I think it's a good book nonetheless, a leisure read if you want time to pass.

A Beautiful Story
I have to say this is probably one of my favorite books. I purchased this book awhile ago but I haven't had time to read it. Recently, however, I had time so I started it and finished it in the same day. The book was too interesting to put down even for a moment. The story is strange and leaves you very curious, wanting to know more, similar to the main character Amethyst. Near the end of the book the whole thing unravels and it makes sense. The story is a little creepy, strange, interesting, and strangely enough it's a little sad. (Low-key cried a little) Marzia did a wonder job writing it, the details were perfect enough to where you can see every part of it, and feel what the character feels. The worst thing about the book would be the ending, I really wish it had a better ending and didn't leave so of the end to the readers imagination. Which may not be so bad for some but if you're anything like me it'll bother you. However, I have to say it's completely worth it, the book is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend this book. I hope Marzia will release more books, this was her first time writing a book and it was wonderful, I can only imagine the books she'll make with experience.

(spoiler free review) Not perfect but I enjoyed it very much.
Dream House is a dark fantasy mystery story, almost reminiscent of the videogame series Silent Hill (the good ones!). The use of atmosphere and creepy occurrences kept me wanting to know more. I feel like there were a couple of sentences that were awkward to read but overall I found her writing fun to read. The ending's a bit of a twist/plot device that is not necessarily original but the journey towards it and the resolution were very satisfactory.Back before this book came out it was rumored that it was a personal story that Marzia wrote about living in a haunted house based on her own personal experiences. It is not the case. But the house is haunted. This book has been getting a lot of hate on youtube but to be honest if its not your kind of story you're not going to enjoy it. If you're a weirdo like me who can watch Forensic Files all night without getting spooked but has nightmares for weeks after watching a horror movie (but loved the movie anyway), then this book is for you.Plot Devices of importance (seriously wish more people would include these in reviews) - Supernatural Elements, Slice of Life/Modern Life, Space Distortion, Romance, Awkward Teenage Behavior, Abstract Violence.Worth the price? Yes.Perfection/Best Ever? No.Enjoyable(Satisfactory) Resolution to the Plot? Yes.

Good book, but could be better
Dream House was easy to read and it had an engaging story and interesting characters. The story follows the main character Amethyst as she finds herself in front of the Blooms’ house. The Blooms invite her to stay the night as a storm was approaching, but when Amethyst wakes up in the morning, the Blooms are missing. As Amethyst unravels the mysteries surrounding the house, including where the Blooms went, she meets the gardener, the neighbor, an old woman, and a little girl. The story was predictable at times, but it has a heartwarming ending even though some questions are left unanswered. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I liked that the story was creepy at times and it left me wanting to know what was actually going on in the house. I would recommend reading this book if you enjoy thrillers.

Fabulous
As a story, I absolutely loved it. I read it in one day, how captivating it was for me. I am a translator so the written part of the book was very distracting. The grammar is off and the words are used incorrectly. But I know it is the authors second language and I think that is not an issue, quality speaking. Some minor plot holes but again, I loved the story.

Amazing and intriguing
I adore Marzia. She's always been one of my favourite YouTubers, so when she published a book, I was amazed and intrigued. As a lover of horror and mystery myself, I wanted to give this book a read. It's an easy story to follow and a quick read. Five stars for Marzia's first book :).
