Over time, does this scoop start to chip where it gets in the ice cream?

How many ounces is this scoop? In other words what weight of ice cream does it scoop?

Hi. Different people use this ice cream scoop in different ways. Normally, it can scoop ice cream balls of 1.5 to 2 ounces.

Is this solid aluminum?

I am not sure of the metal used, but it is supposed to hold some type of antifreeze to transmit the body heat of the hand to the ice cream to make it easier to scoop. The one I have doesn't seem to do that because frozen ice cream doesn't get softened at all. I would recommend looking for something else.
