For me this supplement was life changing. I had always had digestive issues (especially abdominal pain and constipation) resulting in a cholecystectomy and ERCP These procedures did not help as I still suffered with pain and constipation and a few years afterwards I even started experiencing biliary pain. The pain would start after eating a meal with meat and/or high in fat. The pain was a crippling sharp pain located in my upper right quadrant with referred pain radiating to my right shoulder. I usually eat fruit, yogurt, nuts and some sort of grain product (such as banana or pumpkin bread) for breakfast For lunch I have a very large meal each day which contains meat and is in higher fat content In the evening I usually have a smaller snack size meal I was getting the biliary pain after lunch each day. I tried taking HCL caps and digestive enzymes which helped a little bit but still ended up giving up a lot of foods to avoid the pain. I tried Colace and MiraLAX and Senokot for the constipation but would experience cramping and other uncomfortable symptoms. After I found this supplement I began taking one of these tiny capsules with my lunch around mid-meal each day. Boy, what a difference! I had great results from day one. I no longer suffer with either constipation or any kind of biliary pain. I can’t help but wonder why the digestive specialist did not suggest I try this before taking out an organ and cutting my sphincters. That definitely would’ve been a more conservative approach. I am hoping that my review will help others as I wish I would’ve known about this decades ago because it could’ve saved me a lot of hardship. UPDATE: About a year after I started a taking this supplement it stopped working and no longer prevented my colicky symptoms. Tests revealed I had atrophic gastritis which resulted in Hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid). After replenishing my stomach acid levels with HCl/pepsin supplementation my symptoms of colic quickly and completely disappeared and many allergy like symptoms I was plagued with began to fade away. There is a book sold on Amazon everyone who has allergies and digestive symptoms should read written by Johnathan Wright MD entitled “Why Stomach Acid is Good for You.” In this book he explains the connection between the gut and how it can result in histamine reactions. I was able to stop the Bile completely after starting HCl with pepsin capsules and digestive enzymes. If you think bile is your problem you may be only treating the symptoms with this supplement and never addressing the core cause of it all. It is definitely worth your while to explore the possibility of low stomach acid.

This supplement has helped me with food digestion due to bile deficiency, after having my gallbladder removed.

This product is wonderful. I take one capsule before I eat, and if I eat a big portion, I take another capsule after I eat.

I saw a lot of reviews about people with keto rash and people without a gallbladder but I haven’t seen anything about both so I decided to write this detailed review on my experience. I had been on the keto diet for approximately 1 year without any complications before the removal of my gallbladder. After my surgery and as soon as I had recovered I tried to resume eating keto. Immediately after entering ketosis I began developing a rash on my chest. Suspecting the dreaded “keto rash”, I increased my carb intake and the rash began to subside. I tried keto again and my rash reappeared, going away once my carbs intake increased. I developed scars but they eventually began to fade so long as I didn’t have a flare up. This meant I had to give up keto to loss the rash and as I did I began to gain weight. I went to see my PCP but he dismissed it as a fungal rash. I went for a second opinion and was told by the MD that it was a heat rash. Several powders, creams and ointments later nothing was working and I was finding very little information online to help me (other than eating more carbs). I began to gain weight and feel sluggish so I had to get back to a carb-free life. I decided to cut back on the fats and the carbs (low calorie/no carb diet) and just try my best to subdue my inflamed chest once it flared. To my surprise it took a month of being in ketosis on this new diet for my rash to develop again and this time I had stumbled upon a post that mentioned bile supplements. Thinking of how my lack of gallbladder affects the amount of bile in my stomach and how lowering my fat intake effectively slowed the development of my current rash I decided to try them out. I choose the lowest dosage form to try and took one 125 mg capsule with each meal (I usually have two low calorie/no carb meals within a 6 hour window daily and drink at least 64 oz of water throughout the day). 2 days later, I’m in ketosis and my rash is gone. Unfortunately, the next day I began developing mild cramping on the right side of my abdomen after each meal, so I cut back to one 125 mg capsule daily (with my first meal only) and now the cramping is also gone. It’s been 6 weeks since I started my new diet, 1 week since I incorporated the ox bile and now I’m down 27 lbs, full of energy, regular, and my keto rash is gone while my scars are starting to fade again. Edit: It’s been a little over a month and I wanted to provide an update on my review. I‘m still eating the same 2 meals in a 6 hour window but I had to increase my dose as my rash began to slowly reappear. I was a little weary to attempt it at first due to the initial cramping I had experience but I was able to progress gradually without any discomfort. I am now on one 500 mg capsule with each meal and I have found it to be a well balanced dose for me. This has helped me stay on my diet and my rash has almost completely disappeared.
