Situation: I have a MagSafe case for iPhone 14. My car phone mount is also magnetic. The diameter of the car magnetic mount is smaller than the diameter of MagSafe case. So with magsafe case, i couldn't use my vehicle -specific car mount. How I used this item: It comes with 2 items 1) a large diameter extremely strong magnetic round metal "adapter" 2) a ring that has adhesive on it. I took the ring with the adhesive, and put it on the borders of my magsafe phone case. It is the perfect size for magsafe. After putting the ring, i connected my magsafe charger to see if phone charges, and YES it does!! Then i took the large diameter metal adapter thing and magnetic connected to my car mount. That magnetic pull was SUPER strong. The phone ain't going anywhere once mouted on the dashboard. Now, all i did is connect the phone with magsafe case and the metal ring I put on before, and attached to the metal adapter on car mount...and everything works well, phone stays on even during driving with bumps, phone is stable with no shaking. Get this if you are looking for a solution to connect MagSafe case phone to an existing magnetic car mount.

Love this stand! Small profile - probably what I like the most, I have a jeep wrangler and there is not much dash space. Magnet is super strong!! The mag safe plate stays on the magnet and I don’t remove it from the car, I just attach and detach the phone from the MagSafe plate. It’s pretty sturdy, there are times I don’t get the magnetic connection just right and the phone slips but it’s pretty rare and doesn’t affect my opinion on the stand or mount. Once it’s connected properly, the phone does not go anywhere. Very secure. I have noticed certain phone cases work better than others - have to use a MagSafe case, will not connect if the case is not MagSafe unless you buy a MagSafe adapter to attach to the case. Connects the best to the bare phone but I’m not brave enough for that!!

Works well wish it was a bit lighter. Holds phone securely and slim enough to fit in pants pocket.

From what I read many people say it won’t charge with the mag-safe charger attached to it so the metal ring that comes with the orbital is not needed. The product itself works great! Prior to this iPhone (non mag-safe) I had the suction cup and metal ball w the adapter you have to clamp around your phone. That was cumbersome and a little bit of a hassle. The mount didn’t hold the phone well and it pressed the buttons at times. The orbital stays on the ball and not your phone so taking it off and on is awesome! Also, if I need to run my power cord behind my steering wheel it’s not that big of a deal. Even if u go the mag-safe charging way you’re still gunna have a cord so with a lot of ppl saying it doesn’t charge w the metal ring attached I decided just to get the orbital.

I love the steelie products. As a truck driver, my phone is mounted to it for HOURS everyday, and although the regular steelie mount is a little better, I was tired of having the magnet stuck to my phone case all the time so I tried this version of their product when I got a new phone and it’s great. I have the iPhone 16 pro max, which is pretty heavy, and it holds up against hitting even rough roads. I will continue to use steelie products for my phone mounts, especially this one.

I paired this Orbiter Socket with the Steelie Windshield Mount so that i could continue using Steelie brand with my 14 Pro and MagSafe case. I don't want to obscure my windshield, so i have this working with a dashmount disk, and so far, the suction seems good. The orbiter socket is perfection and works amazingly well with my LONLI MagSafe leather case, holding the phone FAR better than ANY of the daskmount holders i have tried. I only wish that the cost on this Orbiter Socket wasn't even higher than the actual windshield mount. Why is that? How is that Nite Ize doesn't have a more affordable option to purchase this Orbital Socket with the Windshield Mount at a better rate? Together they were $75 before taxes. That is a LOT for a dashmount system.

Works perfectly fine, just as it is supposed to. Used it on iPhone 15 pro with an original silicon case and didn’t have any issues. The magnet is strong enough to withstand driving across town and on sharper turns. Have yet to test it on a gravel road. But so far, solid choice for hassle free phone holder.

I know what I was looking for, which is the Steelie Socket replacement for my MagSafe Phone case.

We have these in our work trucks and when the MagSafe option came in we were trying to figure out how to keep using them. Found these and works perfectly in our gmcs to hold the phone and even with the desk stand. Holds really well can shake the phone on the desk stand and did come off
