Ok buy.
Not a bad saw for the price. The fence moves when tightened in place so has to be clamped or checked regularly.

Three bad features
The tilt feature does not have an easy adjust feature, unlocking it lets the blade swing free. You have to reach under and grab the motor to tilt it or use the depth adjusting wheel(not rotating the wheel but just swinging it in an arc side to side. to move it and try to hold in at the correct angle as you lock it.Also, the scale for the rip fence, when extended, reads backward from what it should. Set for a thirteen inch rip width it reads 30 inches, set to a thirty inch rip width it reads 13 inches.Set it up with the anti-kickback dogs installed and raised the blade all the way. When I tried to lower the blade it locked up after lowering it about an eighth of an inch. Finally realized the anti-kickback dogs were catching on the back edge of the opening that the blade insert sets in. You have to hold the dogs up as you lower the blade. Also, the dog will drag on your work piece if the blade height is barely high enough to cut the full thickness of a board and will gouge the work piece. The blade has to be at least 1/2 inch higher than the work piece if the dogs are used. Otherwise it seems to be a decent lightweight saw.

Not bad, not good for the price
Bought this saw about 5 years ago. The fence finally broke as they all did for other reviewers, weak metal piece inside. It's cheap. Fence handle pin coming out. Ruler, sticker glued way off. Slide guide loose laterally. Slider table rails gather saw dust and won't shut properly. Motor not all that powerful. Motor lift far from smooth. You will NOT build quality furniture with this tool.On the other hand, I do my job with it and for the price it's great. So, it's not a piece of no good, it's just an ok tool for the price.EDIT: since I posted this review a part in the fence broke, still under warrantee at almost 5 years. The fence has been discontinued. Delta customer service offered to replace the whole saw...you can't beat that!

Nice Saw Bad Fence
I received this as a gift from Home Depot last Feb, but haven’t used it until today. After 10 or less cuts the fence broke in the exact same spot as a previous reviewer. I’ve contacted Delta to see if it’s covered under warranty.Edit after talking to Delta they will not honor the 5 year warranty unless you provide the receipt. Pay a bit more and get a Bosch or Dewalt. Stay away from Delta.

I'm glad I got this one. But.....
The aspect of that little part in the fence is scary, but I did save my receipt along with my well read manual. The table could be flatter but thats really with alot of portable saws. One thing to note though is delta has nice metal inserts for dados and zero clearance. Thats hard to find nowadays. Although beware the say they work for all 6000 series saws but they dont work on the 36-6023. The rip insert is cheaper plastic and the set leveling screws are only on the sides in the back so the insert is below the table kinda like the dewalt saws. Causing a real catch spot for wood passing over. But over all the 36-6022 solved alot of the problems and over looks the 36-6020 had. I do wish it had more alignment options like the dewalt, and it had and 2nd dust collection. I'm dont regret not having the rack and pinion fence. For the price, options and power. I'm glad i got this one.

WAS a great saw
I bought this saw about a year ago and absolutely loved it. Cut straight, nice and portable. I liked it a lot until this week. A piece of the fence broke and there is no part number. Delta said I would have to buy a new fence at $97 and they are on back order.

Good for the price
Pretty good portable saw. Plenty of power and built solid. All metal no plastic. Mine came with the new fence design and is ok so far but the fence is hard to get square after locking it. You have to check it against the blade every time you move the fence which kinda sucks and is time consuming to say the least. Dewalts rack and pinion fence is far superior if you can stomach the price.
