Ambient Weather BASWAN 6.5" Glass-Blown Swan Barometer

Although I had some difficulty using the enclosed tubing to fill up the swan(simply because it was wrapped up in the box and didn't want to straighten out once I put it in the swan), we got it filled and we love it. My husband has migraines and he can always tell by looking at the rising level that the barometric pressure is rising so he takes other precautions to avoid a migraine. Attractive and useful.

I was extremely disappointed with this item. The swan looked beautiful but when I filled it with water the water leaked out of a pinhole in the tail. The swan would therefore not work so I had to return it.

The ONLY reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the tube they send in the package is impossible to get down the swans neck. This is such a pretty swan weather reader. The only thing I'd suggest is they put a little stiffer tube in with it. There's no way the tube will go down the swans neck without freezing the tube. I almost sent it back, but someone suggested freezing the tube. Once we did that it worked great!! So before you give up, squeeze a little water in the tube, freeze over night and it'll slip right down.

These swan barometers are great! My Mom has had one for about 22 years now and without fail it always predicts rain. When the liquid in the swan gets really high the prerssure is low and we get precipitation. We just know from having watched the liquid level for years what the weather will do. It's really fun to see the liquid level change from day to day. This swan came with a tube to help refill it. It is hard to refill them without something to help get the liquid down the neck because it is such a thin space. I highly recommend this product. I bought one for my Grandma because she would call my Mom and ask her what the swan said! So, now she will have her own.

Works nicely. Fun for the whole family to watch. But, when the pressure is high, the water, colored, as it is, will come out of the swans mouth!! Watch where you place this in the house. You will be cleaning up after it before a storm.

Very cool! It was a little difficult to fill even with the syringe and tubing provided but it did not take too long to do. I have already seen the swan barometer move since I filled it a few hours ago. Fluid started to climb up on the swan neck and checked the weather. The weather report confirmed that there is a storm coming in a few hours. Very excited about this purchase and it makes a very adorable decoration on top of my piano.
