So far, 100% plug and play
I purchased multiple products to attempt to capture my Cannon Camera for livestreaming. The internal cards I bought from another company required PCIe slots a I do not have accessible. This one did with the 1x slot. I also tried a USB link device that I constantly had to reconnect to use. This one, I took it out of the box, opened my PC case, and popped this card into the open 1x slot, plugged in my camera, and viola! it worked perfectly from the get go. I was even able to have some fun and feed the passthrough into my USB capture link thing and make TWO MEs!!! LOLGreat product so far, will update if that changes. Worth the $$ especially on sale. Used to capture a Nintendo Switch AND a second PC with perfect results each time.

Does what it says it does. Can be a little finicky to set up.
Does this work? Sure does. Have used it with a Switch and a Wii (using an HDMI converter) so far and it handles both just fine.Does this work seamlessly? Probably not unless you're using their software to stream. Their provided software(RECentral, I think it's called) seems to be a required install to capture it as a source in other applications, so much like getting anything working in OBS, you'll probably have to tinker with it a bit to get the configuration working the way you want. I had to install that and then run it to get the card to work at all in OBS. Installing it I can understand, because it probably added some driver/library needed. I don't know why I had to actually run their software once to make the card available to capture from OBS Studio, but whatever. Just worth noting that that's a step to take.Am I happy with it? Absolutely. I wish it had some kind of analog video input so I could more easily capture ancient hardware outputs (e.g., my NES,) but that's a minor gripe and I imagine not a popular enough feature to include in a modern capture card.

Great cap card, but Switch 2 audio problem
Ordered a second one for another PC since I like my other one so much. Unfortunately, it wouldn't capture audio for my Switch 2 - I think they're working on a solution for this. I submitted a support ticket, and on the r/AverMedia subreddit they're trying to find a solution last I checked. I'm using the workaround of an HDMI splitter for now, although you can also use a 3.5mm audio cable from the Switch 2 into the PC.Other consoles, it's worked great for me: Switch 1, PS4, Analogue Pocket. A Switch 2 update will make it a top notch device in my book.

great product
I have been using this capture card for my streaming channel and once i got it set up and figured out it has been great. there was some difficulty on my end most likely from this being my first capture card and not knowing how to set it up to work with the streaming software that I use at that time but now that I have figured that out it performs great every time with no issue. have been using it for almost a year now and would absolutely recommend this card to someone looking to stream or record gaming content.ease of installation 5/5ease of set up 3.5/5quality 5/5dependability 5/5

I initially thought I would buy an Elgato HD60 PRO
I purchased this product on November 27 for $ 99.99.I waited because there was no inventory, I received today! In my case it worked fine and the firmware is also up to date. The other company that I used before was very uncomfortable because 1080p30 was the maximum size,I like this product because 1080p60 is the maximum size so it can be used with notebook.I initially thought I would buy an Elgato HD60 PRO,I have abandoned the hardware encoder because this product is described in the catalog that supports HDCP.In order to bypass HDCP, both products have to use a splitter, but in my case, it was important to be able to output without splitter rather than recording. I hope everyone makes a good choice. It is Christmas now.I would think that I received a Christmas present instead of being late. Thank you, Amazon! :D

Switching to Elgato. I've had enough.
**********************************UPDATED REVIEW - 1 STAR - 5/3/2018Not more than a day after I wrote my initial review below, this card stopped cooperating with me. When it worked (rather briefly. I'm talking maybe 4 streams' worth), it worked rather well. Yesterday, while I was streaming on twitch, I switched to a new scene in Streamlabs OBS while streaming my Nintendo Switch (Breath of the Wild, to be specific). I took a short 2 minute break with a 'Be Right Back' scene playing in OBS. When I came back and went back over to my regular streaming scene, the video capture was frozen.I tried rebooting, shutting off my pc and letting it relax for a few minutes, then again overnight, unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cords in the back of the switch dock and the capture card, but to no avail. The signal couldn't be found and without doing more tinkering than I'm willing to commit to, this card is now a brick in my computer.I am so frustrated, I took a long lunch at work today to drive to the nearest Fry's Electronics to get an Elgato HD60 Pro since they're sold out and overpriced on many popular sites online right now. Not sure why. Maybe because nobody else makes decent streaming capture cards anymore these days? Who knows. Avermedia had me as a customer after providing pretty solid performance with their 1080i DarkCrystal HD Capture Pro card, but this upgrade to the Live Gamer HD 2 has been a complete disaster. Elgato, show me what you've got. You win by default.**********************************ORIGINAL REVIEW - 4 STARS - 5/1/2018 - I'm hoping some of the information below will help some.I will dock this card 1 star for sub-par customer service. I've run into audio issues, like others, while trying to get this card to work while streaming on multiple platforms. I was able to solve the issue on my own, thankfully.Avermedia's customer service did reach out to me to help solve my issue a day after I contacted them, which was great. They asked me for screenshots of my windows audio recording devices and their RECentral software to help sort out problems. It's already been two days and I still haven't received a follow-up response to my e-mail. Am I expecting too much? I don't know. But given that I am on a timer as far as returning my card to amazon is concerned, I needed answers as fast as possible.I decided to take matters into my own hands. The first issue I noticed in Windows was that I was getting no sound whatsoever from RECentral. By default, the Live Gamer HD 2 set my recording device to Line In, which I believe are representative of the analog plugs on the card. After investigating, I noticed the digital audio setting for the Live Gamer HD 2 in devices was disabled, so I had to fool with my recording devices for a bit (enabling and disabling devices). The reason why I had to do this is that Windows wouldn't let me right click the digital device and enable it. I can't perfectly reproduce how I eventually got the digital device to become the default recording device, but I was able to get it to work eventually. Make sure you have that digital device enabled in windows recording devices, otherwise you won't hear any sound coming from your new card! Now for the second infuriating issue. This, as far as I know, isn't related to the card itself, but I have a suspicion that it still is - indirectly. I noticed in my twitch streams that people were hearing a slight echo in my voice and the video capture. I checked high and low inside RECentral and Windows recording devices. Nothing seemed out of place. After sleeping on it, I opened up Streamlabs OBS and started digging into settings in there. Sure enough, at the bottom right hand corner (and I never knew this), I scrolled down to find that there were many more recording options in my list of devices than I had before. Essentially what was going on was that my microphone and stereo mix were duplicated and broadcasting all at the same time. I muted one set of duplicates and boom...problem solved. So if you get this card, make sure you not only check Windows recording devices, but that you also look into your streaming app's settings if you get that annoying echo. I hope this helps! In the end, the $140 I paid for this card at the time seems like a bargain when compared to $200-$300 for the Elgato HD60 Pro. As long as you're willing to work through some technical issues, I see nothing wrong with this card.
