OK, not sure what 'sheerness' means, but clicked 5* anyway. I bought this cable to repurpose as a knitting machine data connector. The chipset was important as I had to reprogram it.It works perfectly, so no complaints,

Doesn't work correctly
Sadly the cable I received only receives data and seems incapable of sending it. Literally wasted a month figuring out the cable was the issue. For £17 also feels very overpriced. Very disappointed.
