Very comparable to more expensive connectors
I was very pleased with the quality and cost of these connectors. The fit RG8X coax perfectly. I found them very easy to install, but you do need to have the proper crimping tool to install them. I like to have all of my jumpers and coax runs at the perfect length. With these connectors, I can have professional looking perfect sized jumpers to clean up the wire mess behind my equipment. The durability is good, but for extended outdoor use, I recommend wrapping the connector with a coax sealing tape since they are water resistant, but not waterproof.

Exactly What I Expected
Not much I can really say about these crimp connectors. They aren't the super high end model, but when DYI comes into play, especially for the first time, they did just fine! For the money, great value. For the ease of use, well that's an experience thing. I was able to successfully put an end on a damaged feedline of mine, and the connection is working. I don't have super high end equipment to test and vet the feedline, but it works! To me, that is all that matters. No major loss and/or audible interference. I went 5/5 on the rating, but there are some drawbacks. First, the heat shrink sleave could be longer. Second, it does take some getting used to performing this task. But again, that is more on the operator than the product. All in all, I would buy them again. I just hope I don't have a need for ten (10) ends, except for perhaps making niche cables for the shack and portable station!

Good vendor, product is quite serviceable
There exactly is described and I receives them in a timely manner. They will work just fine with what I'm going to use them for. Although I prefer a style of connector does the sleeve is longer for a better crimp on the shield and some strain relief.

I Thought the Crimp Barrel is a Bit Small (Revised)
My initial thinking was that the crimp barrel is too small to allow pushing over the RG8X shield while still braided. I found that I had to undo the shield, smooth it out straight and trim the excess length to slide the barrel over the assembly before crimping. What I was doing was pushing the connector assembly too far. The inner shield tube was pushed under the shield and the outer sheath thus increasing the diameter the barrel had to go over. After realizing my cockpit mistake, I find they are very good.. I like the small opening for the center conductor -- makes it easier to solder without slopping solder on the outside of the center pin. In spite of the issue, I've already bought another group of ten. Like someone else stated -- they are a lot like the DX Engineering connectors. The only thing better about the DXE version is that they are silver plated.

Not the best
These connectors were supposed to be good for RG-8X. I noticed the crimp ferrule was very tight when slipping it on the coax before stripping the RG-8X coax. The coax measured 0.26 inches diameter. I about an inch and half of the outer insulation and shield braid and foil. Then I stripped an inch and quarter the inter insulation to expose the center conductor. When I used this type connector many years ago, the tube extending from the connector to the entering coax would slip between the inner dielectric insulation and the shield braid with the outer insulation unstriped. Then you would slide the crimp ferrule over the whole tube, shield and outer insulation to Crimp the shield to the PL295. BUT the ferrule would not fit. I had to cut back the outer insulation so the ferrule would fit to crimp. And so far the cable will not pass an RF test at low frequency (3.5 Mhz). I like the pre cut heat shrink with heat activated glue. nice touch. Hope this makes sense. Not pleased at this point. But still willing to find out how I might have gone wrong.
