Great book
High quality and compelling storyline, not much else to say. If you like FF7 (especially the newer titles), this is a good read.

Great for fans of Final Fantasy
I bought this book for my daughter who is a real Final Fantasy fan and didn't know you could get books about it. She was thrilled to receive it. So have given it five stars.

Good addition
Tifa story was best then Aeriths. The end story didnt feel needed really. Overall a good read and excited to see of it fits later in rebirth.

A great companion piece to FFVII Rebirth
If you're a fan of Final Fantasy VII and it's characters, this is a great read. It's by no means essential, but It provides some interesting insights into Tifa and Aerith's pasts, which helps contextualise some of their attitudes and behaviours in the main games. Personally, I found Tifa's section of the book more enjoyable than Aerith's as Tifa's story felt a lot more grounded and relatable to me, but the whole thing is very enjoyable and a breeze to get through.

Beautiful companion to FFVII Remake/Rebirth
I’m really glad I read this novel before playing FFVII Rebirth. This novel is split between Tifa and Aerith, effectively following the two (presumably throughout the party’s travels in Rebirth) as they open up to each other about their rather traumatic childhoods in depth. Some key bits from these stories are briefly touched upon and beautifully visualised or referenced in Rebirth (or very briefly in Remake, in Aerith’s case), or set up in a way that you might recognise where your playthrough overlaps with points in the novel, and stays true to the way the novel has portrayed both of these characters and the overarching scenario. As someone who’s incredibly fond of this series and of VII in general, the way this novel has been written is nothing short of beautiful and a really interesting and in-depth character study for both Tifa and Aerith. Having read the novel, this also made some key scenes for these characters even more impactful and heartbreaking in Rebirth, having a deeper knowledge and understanding of their background and their developing relationship. If you really enjoyed FFVII Remake/Rebirth, I’d strongly recommend adding this to your reading collection.

Recommended to FF7 fans
Came quickly, and in good condition, tells the story of Tifa and Aerith's origins without spoiling the games. Definitely recommended for the final fantasy 7 fans

Nice lore expansion
This is better than on the way to a smile in my opinion and helped expand the characters of Tifa and Aerith as well as the support characters. I felt we saw more of Elmyra as a mum in this book too. As I was reading I was wondering how it was going to cover the events from FF7 and Crisis core that are crucial to the plot but it finds a way to skip over them naturally. Ff7 and Crisis Core are not spoiled here. I really enjoyed it and if you are a fan of FF7 and especially these characters then give it a go. My only criticism is that the longer epilogue section follows another character entirely and I felt kind of redundant. I think it would have been better if both women continued to reflect together about their experiences and how they have been brought together as they travel across the world. Maybe see more if their thoughts on Cloud and the others in the present - as they are telling the story after Midgar, but it is vague enough to not reveal or clash with anything coming up with FF7 Rebirth

I’ve played Final Fantasy VII OG, Remake and Rebirth and I’ve always wanted to know more about Tifa and Aerith (as well as other characters!) but this novel really delivered. I’ll write this review as spoiler-free as possible. The book is split into 3 parts. Part 1 is about the events before and surrounding the Nibelheim Incident from Tifa’s point of view and how she survived in the years after it. Part 2 is about Aerith’s childhood with her mom and insight into how she came to live in such a cool house in the Sector 5 slums. Part 3 is much shorter, and it’s a cool story about someone who knew Aerith as a child. The events in the story exist in the world as created in Remake and Rebirth. If you haven’t played Rebirth, the book doesn’t have any big spoilers, just some light mentioning of early game broad strokes. The book will make sense to anyone who’s played FF7 original, but it will be much more colorful in your mind if you’ve recently played Remake because it vividly references the images of Midgar as depicted in that game. All in all, Kazushige Nojima hits it out of the park for big fans of FF7’s leading ladies with this beautiful book. The translation is true and very well written. Every sentence is in congruence with the game and our beloved characters are done much justice here. Highly recommend this book for any fans thirsting for more FF7 story!

I am a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 since its original release. In this book, we see how much Tifa and Aerith's friendship develops and how they discuss the events of their past. I love the characters both so much, they are both beautiful, important, and amazing. This is a must-have for any fan of Final Fantasy 7
