These are jet engine loud but that's what you get in this great price range. Something has to give to get the cost down so open frame with a small muffler is what we get. Portable quiet cost money (think Honda's equivilant ultra quiet model is around $5,000). If this is going to be for your house, spend another $200 on supplies at hardware store and build an outdoor pad and insulated enclosure
