Chaney 75171 8-inch Poplar Wood Wall Clock

I really loved the wooden frame. I hung this clock in the kitchen and the color of the wooden frame is just a perfect match to the color of the cabinets of my house's kitchen. My wife loved it very much and could not thank me enough for this important wall clock thing hanging on the wall. The time keeping is also very reliable and the ticking is soundless. Very nice wall clock that I recommend to everyone.

We were looking for a new clock in our kitchen area. The Poplar Wood Wall Clock was the right size we needed and also looked like it would match the cabinetry in our kitchen. We were very pleased when we received the clock. It blends in beautifully!

The clock is what I wanted except it is smaller than I thougt it was. I measured the size of my current clock and it matched the reported size of this clock but this clock is smaller. I think the advertised size includes the surrounding frame, the face is too small for my needs.

In Amazon's picture of this clock, the pieces of wood which make up the frame appear to be very well matched so that you hardly notice it's not made from a single piece of wood, but each of those several pieces are very clearly delineated on the clock I received. More importantly, the written description of the clock is misleading. The description says the clock is 1-inch deep, which led me to believe it would hang flush against the wall. In fact, the frame is 1-inch deep, but the works which protrude from center of the clock's back are an additional 1-inch deep so that there's a 1-inch gap between the wall and the clock's frame. That protrusion from the wall is the more obvious because this is a relatively small diameter clock. This was not what I wanted or expected, so I'm now looking for another clock. Maybe I'll hang this one in the garage.

I bought this clock a few months ago, and I wanted something small because it was for the bathroom. It's perfect for the space and, even though it's small, the time is easy to read from anywhere in the bathroom. I haven't noticed any glare off of the glass unlike some of the other brands, even some of the more expensive ones. I'm particularly irritated by loud ticking clocks, and I don't even notice the ticking of this clock, so it must be quiet. One of the other reviewers mentioned that the wood pieces forming the frame don't match exactly, and that is the case with my clock as well. It doesn't bother me, though, especially for the price. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because the clock mechanism sticks out slightly in the back so the clock doesn't lie flush against the wall. I knew this when I bought it from another review, but it still bugs me slightly. I just surrounded the clock with pictures to make it less noticeable.

Nice clock, wood looks good. It stands off the mounting surface about 3/4 inch, not a problem for me but be aware it's not a flush mount. Numbers are lightly printed (I like that), hands stand out clearly against the dial. Not dead silent, but MUCH quieter than other similar clocks I have.

I really love the look and size of this little clock, but it stopped working after just two months of use. Very disappointed.

This clock is a nice size and fits right in with our decor. My husband commented that it was a nice clock before I had a chance to completely remove it from the shipping envelope...that says a lot!
