Best little pump ever!!!!
I bought a family blow up pool on Amazon and since it took over 300 gallons to fill it, I thought a small pump might extend the health of the water to cut down on refilling. It worked just perfectly!! 535 gallons an hour was just the right size. Small in size, quiet with an excellent GFCI built right into the plug!! The pool water stayed perfect for the two weeks I had it and then...a wind storm picked the pool partially up (I had drained down the water level due to the torrential rainfall; trying to keep it at 6 inches. ) and slammed it into my dog's kennel where it made a small hole in the pool. After 3 tries to repair the pool, including using FLEX SEAL POOL REPAIR Patches, I gave up. The heat destroyed every patch and the pool was now history...(although I adored each and every time I slithered into that baby to cool down!!) The perfect condition pool filter pump was packed up and returned BUT I would NEVER hesitate to purchase again for a small pool.

It works wonders with a little bit of help and common sense!
We bought a 8' x 30" deep pool since Corona was making its way to FL and I knew we were going to be spending a lot of time at home. Luckily the pool had the hole connections on it to run a water filter pump! So after filling it up for about 5hrs, I realized I needed to purchase a pump right away! I looked over the options and this one was the recommended one for my pool size. Once everything is plugged to the pool, filter in place and turn it on, the pump will circulate the water and in about 2-4hrs depending on how hazy it is, it will help clean it. I do treat the water, because I want it to last through the summer and I do not plan on refilling it. So I have a little skimmer with 1 to 2 chlorine tablets, I use the test strips daily to see the PH, Alkalinity and chlorine levels, I'm using the recommended dosage of baking soda to raise the PH and Alkalinity if needed. I also bought an inexpensive vacuum to get the dirt from the floor, and just for the first time I had to shock the water with VERY LITTLE chlorine shocking treatment since the Clarifier and changing the filter on the pump were not doing the job. After the shock treatment, and run the pump with a new filter for about 6hrs I have clear water again! I do run the pump every day for about 2 hrs, as I saw another reviewer suggesting. I highly recommend to clean the filter every 3 days if you use this type of small pool daily, just run the filter with a hose and if you see that the dirt is not coming off, it's time for a new filter! You will notice that when you run the pump and the water it pushes into the pool it's not coming out with some pressure it may be a dirty filter or that the water lines/hoses are too curved. I place a little step stool below the water line that goes from the pump to the pool to raise it, and I notice a big change in the water pressure. I hope this helps some people as I read a lot of negative reviews. You have to work your ways around to make a system like this work for your benefit; and also watch some YouTube videos on how to keep a kiddie pool clean! :)

Great filter for small to medium above ground pools
We decided that this years 3 1/2 days of spring before hitting the high 90's in APRIL sucked. So we went full on hillbilly and got an 8' poly stock tank from the local farm store. Hooked this filter up quickly and we were ready to roll. This is a replacement for Intex pools, but we retrofitted it to our stock tank with no problems. We didn't want to cut into our tank to mount the hoses, so we dropped the hoses into the pool and secured them with some zip ties screwed into the fence next to our pool. This filter system is great when you need a solution and think outside of the box. Works great for our 800 gallon tank and the filters are cheap. We only run the filter for a few hours a day. Note: you cannot use a timer because it has a GFCI reset button. When it loses power for any reason, it resets the power and it has to be manually turned back on. So put your power plug in an easily accessible location.

It does the job well
I have a 12x30 Intex Pool. I leave it on anywhere from 6 to 12 hours a day depending if I will be home or not keep pool clean and I wash the filter with a hose 1 time a week. I put a new one in every 2 weeks. I buy the 3 pack at Lowe’s for cheap. I noticed though I guess because of how long I use it,it burns out mid next summer sometimes out of five years I had to repurchase 2 timesso I have to buy a new one. Good pressure, not loud, good suction. Definitely worth it

Kinda ok
Amending this review, April 2021: I have now had 3 (or is it 4?) of this particular filter pump in the last 2-3 years. When they work, they do a decent job but the rod that holds the impeller that causes the thing to, you know, PUMP water is made of some sort of extremely fragile ceramic and it gets worn by the action of the impeller and breaks in a matter of months or even weeks. The result is zero pumping action. It's a terrible design and apparently there is no replacement part available. Given that the price of this filter pump has nearly quadrupled in the last year due to the sudden pandemic-related popularly of stock tank pools, there's no way I'll ever buy another one of these. (I paid about $35 for the first one, and have recently seem them listed for $250. Today's Amazon price is about $170.) The price of replacement filter cartridges has likewise skyrocketed, so this is no longer an inexpensive solution to the ubiquitous problem of needing to filter pool water. I'd sooner remove the water from my tank one ladle at a time and let it drip through a series coffee filters than give another penny to Intex! They're knowingly selling a terribly designed product at a wildly inflated price. Original review from 2019: I ordered this to clean a stock tank that I keep for recreational soaking after a long day at work (poor woman's hot tub). It did a fair job, but my main complaint was that it lasted, like, 3 days past its warranty period. How did it know? Ultimately, it was easier to just order a new one (ordered the next size up) than to try to deal with getting it fixed. I suppose it's inexpensive enough that replacing it every year or so isn't the end of the world, although it does seem like a waste.

Appeared at the outset to be the perfect product but after about 2 months it started to randomly cut out and stop mid cycle and for no apparent reason and could not be restarted for a few minutes We use it for recirculating a small wood fired heated pool, so when it stops it causes a major issue with the in line boiler as there is no water flow with serious and dangerous overheating. Water temperature goes into the pump from the pool at a range between say 15 - 35 degrees an then through the boiler and back into the pool at at a range of say 20 - 40 degrees adding 5 degrees in temperature each each circulation . Say heating the pool from 15 - 40 over a 4 hour period. After 7ral hours of trying to find a person company or representative or manufacturer so as to enquire into this malady I posted this review.

Worked great for one season Hooked it up this season and died after a week. No idea why Ran great then didn’t Filters were clean so no reason it should die. Disappointed to say the least

Purchased this pump middle of june to install at the beginning of summer vacation (end of june/beginning of july) we are currently august 4th and despite all attempts, the pump hasnt worked for the last week. Changed filter cartridge and washed out pump, cleaned tubes, cleaned intake and outlet in pool, unplugged for a couple hours then plugged back in... nothing will work. Very dissapointed considering the price of the product.
