BISSELL BARKBATH Dog Bath Tool for use with BISSELL Portable Deep Cleaners, 1842A

I bought this on a whim, and it sat in the box for a month before I finally tried it. I have 3 Portuguese Water Dogs and they're pretty good with baths. But washing 3 dogs in the tub is a messy project, so I hoped this might be a good alternative.When I got it and turned it on I was concerned that my skittish dog wouldn't like it. I was wrong. All three love the way the wand feels combing through their hair. They all sat still for it and my girl dog didn't want the experience to end.Are they squeaky clean? No. This isn't a deep clean by any means. If we'd been out in the woods in the mud we'd still need the tub. But for in between the major bath this is a nice option.Is it messy? Don't dogs and water usually equal that? But it's not as messy as a regular bath at my house. Towels on the floor under them was enough to contain the mess. You will end up with wet dogs because while the suction does remove some of the water, it doesn't remove most of it.Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

The concept of this product was fantastic. To start these are the dogs it was used on:Wheaten Terrier Mix (25 lbs) and a Standard Rat Terrier (20 lbs)I was pleasantly surprised that the dogs were relatively okay with this taking they hide from the vacuum and roomba. It can not perform as advertised on a single coat dog. It almost did okay on the rat terrier but failed on the Wheaten mix. It makes a bigger mess than what it is worth for a two inch single coat dog. I am sure this will work well on a German Shepard or a Golden Retriever. For a smaller dog (25 lbs and under) the sprayer head is a little big. It would be better if the head was curved. As stated above I bet the shape is better on a larger dog. Even on a larger dog this will not be an answer for the legs on a dog unless you have a Newfoundland. It came with a cleaning solution that was said to smell like mulberries... I am not sure what that should smell like but in the bottle it was nice. Once it was applie it was not a strong enough scent to keep them from just smelling like wet dogs. In the end I just finished up washing the dogs in the tub the old school way.With all this being said I think I am going to test it out on my donkey. It maybe a fun gadget in the barn.I strongly advise using this product outside or in a bath/shower area.

If you are into terrifying and traumatizing your pets, first you suck, and second get this gadget! I love my little green Bissell! It's so satisfying to bust it out for spills and doggy accidents and watch it massacre all the ground in dirt. But this attachment is no bueno. First, its so LOUD! My dogs instantly ran for cover when i started up my machine, which is atypical behaviour. Usually when I use it they gather around curiously, hanging out quite close to the action. Second, no matter how hot I made the water (our tap comes out at 117°) it came out COLD. So much so that upon spraying it on my, sadly trembling, doggo, he began to shiver uncontrollably. Third, the suction seems relatively equal to the standard attachment but it clogs almost immediately and in the very few moments I was using it on our Kev, it became stuffed with fluff repeatedly (and he's a short haired boy). And finally, it's actually quite a bit of wrangling to get the standard hose detached and the bark bath hose attached. Oh, and it leaked water like crazy. So, not recommended at all. I returned mine.

I used this product with my spot bot. My dog is afraid of the noise and often barks if I am vacuuming or cleaning the carpet. He did not like this. However, he does not like baths either so this wasn't any more distressing for him than a regular bath and this was much faster. putting the tool on the spot bot was a little complicated just because the hoses want to go their own ways. The shampoo reservoir seems to leak a little so be careful where you lay it. I filled the clean reservoir with very warm water and filled the shampoo. I put a heavy blanket on the couch under the dog. I have issues being down on the floor so the couch was a better choice. I have a schnoodle- he is about 10 pounds. After I bought this I saw it was recommended for larger dogs. I didn't have a problem using it though. It worked as described and made very little mess. The brush is hard plastic that does not "give" at all. It seemed like it would be uncomfortable but my dog didn't seem to mind that. It worked well.Pro- less mess and faster bathing in a comfortable spot. The shampoo left him smelling clean and didn't irritate his skin.Con- my dog was shivering because he didn't have warm water pouring over him during the bath- it only comes out when you press the button and is sucked back up, leaving him wet and a bit chilled. It is also more tedious to set up and prime than just putting the dog in the sink and pouring shampoo on him.I will continue to use this and would recommend it.

I wanted to love this but it absolutely did not work on my German Shepherd. Just made him a little wet and soapy and still made a mess. Seems like it needs stronger suction and a brush head. My dog's long hair prevented the top from make a tight seal against his skin to sick all the water off. I would think that this would work better for short haired dogs but other reviews say otherwise. On a positive note it did seem well made and was easy to operate.

I have 2 dogs, a German Shepherd and Pit Bull. I have to tell you, this is a MUST for dog owners, i absolutely LOVE it! My shepherd is 11 and is allergic to everything from trees to grass, so normally i use a medicated shampoo and was not sure about being able to use ONLY the rinse-free shampoo that Bissell requires with this system, but i was pleasantly surprised and happy when i realized the shampoo is mild enough to do a great job on him. Being he is 125lbs., i don't want to spend hours bathing him and this tool saved my life. I also was worried since it was rinse-free that all the shampoo would be rinsed out since i don't want him scratching from shampoo being left behind, but no worries there, it does a fantastic job! My 1 yr old. Bully was even easier as she doesn't have all the fur he does. My only regret is i didn't buy one sooner, THANK YOU BISSELL for making bathing easy for us

Creo que es ideal para el baño de un chihuahua o de un bull dog francés. Pero en mi caso tengo pastor Inglés. El depósito de agua no basta para el tamaño y realmente no los moja ni los limpia.

I just purchased the attachment as I already have a The Little Green Machine. Worked really well with my 70lb labradoodle who was in daycare. Picture shows the aftermath.Pros:- it works!- instructions were easy to follow- only had to refill water once. It will definitely save your water bill since you don't need to use that much water than traditional dog baths in the shower.- dog's coat dries faster- can use this for after real baths to suck up excess water!Cons:- it's definitely loud. If your dog is not a big fan of loud vacuum noises, then this machine is not for you.- doesn't suck up everything (dirt or hair) but still does a great job. So this would be good to use for in between real baths.- hard to use on the paws and legs

Great little add-on to the Bissell. Works better than I expected. Removed alot of dit to what I thought was a clean Labrador.

We noticed a HUGE difference after we washed our dog with the BarkBath. We adopted him and washed him a week later - who knew how much dirt was hiding under his fur?! A big plus for this is that it uses 2-3 cups of water for our large shepherd mix. Definitely better than a wash in the tub (that we don't have). Mentioned it ever so briefly while our dog was playing with some neighbourhood dogs, and now two more people have it!We used this with our LittleGreen ProHeat Pet spot cleaner.

I have a Border Collie/Shepard mix so the hair is very coarse and he sheds a lot. This product works good for freshening him up but doesn't do much for getting all the loose hair out.
