Excellent quality, design and funtion.
Bought this for my son who is a knife guy. He bought me a nice Biker Auto and I returned the favor with this. He and I both like this knife for the following reasons1. Benchmade quality, warranty and free factory sharpening service. You pay 5$ postage and they sharpen to factory specs and return it too you2. Quality steel. AUS8 is a good Japanese steel. It holds the edge and gets scary sharp.3. Small form knife with a big bite. This is a slasher type blade with a chisel grind. Easy easy easy to sharper in the field.4. Great size for concealed carry and it is a light agile knife easily handled by those with smaller hands.5. Beautiful design. Good looking blade and handle design. Very asteically pleasing and functional. If you want Benchmade quality at a low low price, try this little fella out and see what you're missing

Snody Knife
I just received the blade yesterday , It was all the things its supposed to be . Light ,thin, nice sheath . The only thing I could find negative is: This knife was very dull , had sharp point but edge would not cut paper . I believe the angle on the bevel is to much !! It looks to be about 25 degrees or more . The angle should be around 15 degrees. I spent approx. an hour regrinding the angle . It is now about 15 Degrees and NOW it is sharp........

My favorite knife - but I hate the name
I collect small knives and cutting tools, some of which are quite a bit more expensive than this. I was surprised to find myself favoring this blade for EDC. The balance, the weight, the feel - they're just perfect. Plus it looks really good and it's very, very sharp. Frankly, the only thing I don't like about it is the name: the "Instigator"? Why not call it the "fight starter"? Or "the mugger's friend"? Or "stealth throat-cutter"? I would hope that most people, like myself, carry a blade like this only on the off-chance that it is needed for self-defense. So: 4 (not 5) stars because I consider the name questionable at best.

Compact but effective versatile knife for carry or backup
As the owner of quite a few Benchmade knives over the years, I have come to expect a lot. The H&K Instigator by Benchmade has delivered. I bought this knife as a simple yet effective knife for my girlfriend to wear on a lanyard for hiking and outdoor activities. The knife fits snugly in the kydex sheath yet it isn't terribly difficult to remove. It has a nice weight and feel in the hand and a razor sharp edge. For the price especially it is difficult to beat the quality and design of the Benchmade H&K Instigator. Compact yet effective and easy to handle.

Knife Falls Out
Knife looks awesome I like the feel have to agree with some of the other reviews definitely even better with 550 cord on the handle but what a slim design without the 550 cord. Knife looks mean no complaint about the knife. The sheath is what bothers me the knife is loose in the sheath. I held the sheath and jiggled it like as if it was around my neck while running and the knife FELL OUT!! Imagine this you are running from someone or something and your knife falls out worst case scenario you stab yourself best case scenario you don't but now it's not around your neck to be able to use to protect yourself. Hope you run fast. Im going to assume I just have a bad sheath since I haven't seen anyone else say anything about the Sharon issue I'm having. If the sheath worked this bad boy would get 5 stars from me.

Great Knife
For the price, this knife is excellent, I own two! The blade is called a sheeps foot, it's unifacial, or only sharp on one edge. It's perfect for cutting and sheering rope, but also works as a solid all-around knife, I even cut my hair with it once in the field. The slim profile and light weight make it very comfortable to carrying in your pocket, and there have been several times I even forgot I was carrying it. Honestly I use it more as a field dinner knife than anything else, and I've found other applications for it like opening beer bottles. The steel is quite durable, I haven't had to sharpen the blade yet after 6 months of use.

Excellent Lightweight But Quality Neck Knife
My title sums it up ...it's super thin and lightweight yet is strong and high quality. Love the beveled holes all along the handle and the way it fits snugly into the sheath. It was sharp but could be sharper ...nothing a good sharpener won't fix. Purchased for use as a neck knife, but is versatile enough to use as a boot knife or simply strap it on to your back pack. Would make a good EDC knife too.
