This book is so much more than I expected
I want to live this book out! There are so many great points I feel like I highlighted every single page!!! It was wonderful! It made me smile, think about what I’m doing with my family and home, made me feel reassured that rest is ok, the list truly goes on. This book is a must read if you’re a leader of any kind, hosting a small group, love people and the Lord, want to invite people over, share the love of Jesus etc. amazing book!

Beautifully written
This book is everything it says it is and more. The author is a gifted writer, and it reads smoothly with beautiful imagery almost like poetry. The principles of hygge are described in detail. The book is one to be read on slow afternoons with a hot cup of tea and a cozy blanket.

A cozy read
I enjoyed reading this cozy book and purchased three more as Christmas 2024 stocking stuffers for my daughter and daughters -in-law. While I did not agree with all of the theology, I felt all in all, the book was a lovely reminder of hygge and it now sits on my library bookshelf of "keepers."Curiously, I was just reading last week that it turns out the high ratings from the official World Happiness Reports for the Nordic countries like Denmark and Finland may actually not apparently be scientifically correct? That information is definitely worth looking up for one's self to decide. It may turn out that the questions skewed the findings. It doesn't change everything about this book or about the premise behind holy hygge, but it would reflect in any writer's research concerning a country's overall happiness levels.

So many gold nuggets!
There are so many gold nuggets in this book. "We no longer begrudge the monotony of a routine life because hygge compels us to find the extra of each ordinary moment." Every morning with my kids doesn't have to be viewed as mundane. It is a gift to be with them, enjoying life together, learning together, and growing in our relationship with Jesus together.Holy Hygge also really opened my eyes to viewing hospitality not only through the secular Danish tradition of hygge, but even more importantly through scripture. I was challenged...in a great way! I'm slowly looking at my house wondering what can be done differently to make it more welcoming and inviting not only to outsiders, but to my own family. A desire to be hospitable has been awakened inside me!Added bonus: This book is gorgeous! Pictures don't do it justice. So thank you Jamie! This is a book I will turn to again and again. I know I will get something new out of it each time I read it!

Everyone should read this book!
This is easily my favorite of the books I’ve read so far this year! What a refreshing, encouraging, challenging and hope-filled read! I’ve been a SAHM/homemaker for almost 15 years now and in this current season I’ve felt content with our home life except when it comes to bringing others into our home. Everywhere we’ve lived we’ve invited people over but it has just felt impossible and frustrating in this particular house. Jamie gave the perfect balance of grace for imperfection and encouragement to overcome challenges to make our home a place of love and warmth for those of us living within it and invite others into that atmosphere. I feel a renewed sense of peace and excitement about our home and my ability to influence it for the good. I only wish this book could have been written when I was a young newlywed! I’ve already bought a couple extra copies to give away. Seriously, everyone should read this book!

How to live in your home
What a powerful book for both the spirit and for learning how to live fearlessly. Using personal stories and Scripture, the author poetically at times explains the function of a family and the role of a home in the ultimate scheme of things. It is a book that I will probably read again for inspiration.
