This RAM rescued my old microserver from the closet!
The popular HP gen7 microservers from a few years ago are supposedly limited to 8GB of server ECC RAM, limiting their use as multi-TB NAS boxes running modern storage OSs like Rockstor. However, some online blogs have claimed that this 16GB high-quality Kingston server RAM matched pair would work fine on the HP gen7 microservers.Sure enough, it runs fine on my N54L microserver, multiple passes of memtest86+ with no errors! I'm moving forward on my NAS project, and best of all this RAM was reasonably priced, at only about a 50% premium over non-ECC non-server RAM.

Works with SuperMicro X9SCM-F
I bought a used SuperMicro server that had this model of RAM, but 8GB (2x4GB). I was looking to increase it. Based on my research online, this (and other SuperMicro motherboards) are quite picky on the kind of RAM you put in them, and how you mix them. Even though the models match, I was nervous that combining 2x4GB and 2x8GB would cause a problem. It works fine. Just be sure you put the larger sticks in the lower numbered slot for each channel. So, in my instance, from closest to CPU, it went 8GB, 4GB, 8GB, 4GB.

Steady as she goes.
This RAM is so solid, I forgot I installed it. Seriously. This review request reminded me that I need to grab another 16 GB Kit for my server. (2016)Deja vu... I went looking through my order history and once again forgot that I had bought this RAM. Still kicking and delivering fantastic performance. I never did order the other 16 GB kit, though. Maybe I can do that later. (2018)

Worked Perfectly on my HP Proliant Microserver (N40L)
This ECC Memory works perfectly in my HP Proliant Microserver (N40L). I decided to use my N40L as a FreeNAS box and it was highly recommended to use ECC memory. This did the trick and FreeNAS has been running solid for months now.

Great for HP Microserver N54L
This RAM worked just fine in my HP Microserver N54L. It was a simple swap, with no BIOS configuration needed for the machine to recognize the full 16 GB. The server runs rock-solid--no kernel panics or ZFS data loss so far, after almost 2 months.

Kingston makes a fine product - but whoever 'repackaged' the boards shipped to us should have his feet held to the fire!
Received package had been opened - seal was broken. Clear plastic clamshell case (designed to hold two memory sticks securely in place) was deformed and/or damaged. ...In attempting to get the case to hold one of the two memory boards, the shipper 'bent' the board slightly to get it to fit in the slot that was deformed and/or damaged. In addition to this abysmal & harmful packaging, the circuit board labels did not match the product nomenclature on the invoice. ....Don't know what type of computer these boards were for - they certainly didn't work in my Intel board machine. ...This reseller-supplier should be scraped! (Not talking about Kingston, here - we've used their stuff for years - they make a fine product!)

Works flawessly in my HP Microserver Gen 8
Installed it inside my HP Microserver Gen 8 and it booted flawlessly without any problems at all. Both my HP Microserver and VMware ESXi are able to recognized and use the 16GB of memory installed too.

Does what it says, and it works
Package says 16GB of 1333 ECC DDE3, and that's what it is. Popped it in to an N54L and it's working like it should!Might update later to comment on long term integrity.

Excellent
Have this installed in a HP N54L Microserver and a HP N40L Microserver and it works perfectly in both. 16GB all recognized straight away and on every boot. (some other memory will only register the full 16GB every N boots). Been running ESXi on the N54L and FreeNAS on the N40L 24/7 since purchasing the memory without any problems at all. I'll be buying more of this when I build my next HP Microserver. If you have an HP N54L or N40L Microserver then this is the memory to buy.

HP Microserver N54L
Works on my HP Microserver N54L - didn't have to change anything in the bios (which would have meant attaching a screen and keyboard as it runs a headerless Freenas server). It's ECC, so it's a much better match than the 8GB of Corsair RAM I had in the box previously - if you are running Freenas, it loves more memory and ECC as you can wide your entire dataset during a scrub if the memory has a corruption. And if I upgrade to the HP MIcroserver Gen 8 the memory kit will work in that too...A must buy for home servers

Works in HP N54L Microserver
I bought this RAM has plenty of people confirmed it gave them 16Gb in their HP N54L Server.Installed the 2 sticks and powered up, but only saw 8Gb, but I did think I hadn't seated one stick properly when I inserted them, so took them out, swapped them over and powered back up.16Gb detected, so all was well.Get this RAM for your HP N54l.

If you plan on upgrading to a xeon then you might be better to get faster 1600Mhz
Works in HP Proliant Gen8 Microserver. If you plan on upgrading to a xeon then you might be better to get faster 1600Mhz.Perfect for Celeron®, G1610T, or Pentium G2020T, as both these CPUs only support this slower speed anyway...

Works great in Proliant 54L
Like many others I bought this for use in my Proliant 54L Microserver. It worked straight away with no bios upgrade. One word of warning though, if you are running Windows Home Server 2011, this can only use up to 8GB of RAM so 8GB will be redundant.
