Proofing in it is a breeze - I have had zero sticking, cleanup is a breeze, just a light flouring and you're off to the races. SUPERIOR PRODUCT
These are so far superior to the bamboo style banneton they shouldn't even be compared to each other. These are a little pricey, however they are worth it. The statement you get what you pay for applies here. Your bread doesn't stick, you don't have to wash liners, they absorb moisture. My only complaint is you can't really clean them so some of my cinnamon sugar loaf leaked and there is nothing I can do about it that one has just become the sugar loaf banneton. If you tried to clean them they peel apart like a cardboard box in the rain.

Best proofing basket I’ve owned.
This proofing basket is amazing!!! My sourdough does not stick and rises perfectly. Would highly recommend for anyone making bread.

The Best I have found
I bought the Bulka Banneton Bread Proofing Basket Spruce Wood Pulp Round 9" Groove with doubts and figuring I could return it if it didn't meet my expectations. This banneton is the last brand/type of banneton that I will ever purchase! It not only met EVERY expectation I had but exceeded them. I make several loaves of sourdough bread a week and have fought with different proofing baskets to release the dough that either stuck to the bottom, sides, or both. With the Bulka - I sprinkle a bit of rice flour onto the bottom of the basket and the sides of the dough, and you will have ZERO sticking - the dough turns out easily. You'll have flawlessly stunning loaves of sourdough to bake. As for clean-up, there isn't any. The dough doesn't stick, so all you have to do is tap the basket over the garbage to release and remove any rice flour. Once the bread is out of the oven - the oven is turned off - the door is open to cool down - I place my basket in the oven to dry from any residual moisture from the dough; leaving the basket in the oven overnight to continue cooling and drying. My basket looks as good as new after proofing dozens of loaves of bread. I can't say enough good things about the Bulka brand - I want to get every style of basket they make. This is the only brand I will buy from now forward.

Wonderful banneton!
This banneton really elevated my sourdough bread baking. I tried other bannetons and they helped but the wood pulp banneton is clearly superior. It helps dry the surface of the dough just enough, so it is much easier to score with the lame, actually cutting instead of tearing. Highly recommend.

Great bowl, wish it was smaller or had steeper sides
I got this bowl after my regular bamboo one was SPLINTERING. I'm not gonna use something that may leave splinters in my bread. I love that it's made from pulp and has no potential for splintering! It also releases dough well. I just wish the shape was less big/shallow and that it had a smaller center and steeper sides so as to allow for the bowl to be used with small loaves as well as big ones. I use Elaine Boddy's recipes (with 500g flour) and this bowl was just too big and shallow for them. It did work well when I doubled the batch, but I was wanting to use it for the smaller ones too. Guess I need yet another banneton for those. 🤪

My sourdough loaves tend to be on the smaller side and they don’t fill the bowl but the pattern is nicely transferred and the sides are tall enough to nicely cover the dough as it rises. It is made in Germany and I trust the fabrication.

I tend to make high hydration doughs with a decent amount of wholemeal flour so they can get pretty sticky. Wicker is fine but if I’m not super careful I can end up partly deflating the dough as I try to get it out of the banneton. This has never even been close to happening with this one - it just makes the whole process of bulk fermentation a breeze.

Works great. Follow the instructions to dry it out after so you don’t get mold. Overall really nice
