Does anyone know the diameter of the hole the padlock goes through on the locking device or the cable's? I'd like to use a different padlock.

I got an ABUS 72/30 KD Aluminum Safety Padlock Keyed Different with 1" Shackle. Seems to be the best quality lock that will fit according to reviews. Thanks (Wanjae)!

Way better. I just used this bag to travel out of the country. I paired it with one of pacsafes backpacks as well. Get yourself a better lock for it tho. The stock lock could be picked in seconds by anyone with a decent understanding of lock picking.

Can it hold a laptop? And if so how big of a laptop?

My laptop is 15"x9.5" and 12L Travelsafe stored it with room to spare. At the same time I also Fit/kept my wallet, passport, cellphone, Go Pro and its valuable accessories and charging wires for safe keeping while I was out of my room. I traveled all around Thailand with this product and it performed perfectly. The bag its self is (Outside dimensions) 20"x14", after bag is closed dimensions are 17"x14". Great travel item to have if your not sure if your hotel room will have a in room safe. Honestly i don't trust those things because they have default codes, an easy snatch for a opportunist (hotel employee). Great peace of mind while you travel.
