My New Beetle shifts like butter.
One day driving home from work, my 2001 New Beetle decided not to go into second or first gear. I limped home in third gear. At home I discovered it would not go into reverse either. After doing some research on YouTube I discovered I needed this kit. I ordered it and it came right away. I watched a few videos on how to remove the console and unhook the gear shift. My first/second gear bushing had dissinigrated. I used the bushings in the kit to rebuild my shifter. Now it shifts great. Should be good for another 165,000 miles or 23 years. Anyone with average mechanical skills can do this after watching YouTube. Good luck.

Decent alternative to diesel bros' set
I used this kit in a 2004 VW GTI VR6 6 speed. Replaces bushing on shift selector under the hood, first gear getter bushing, and bushings for shifter housing cable ends. I used a 5mm Alan wrench as an alignment pin to align the cables.

one bushing was not milled right the 1 gear getter
1 gear getter would not stay in pressed in by hand should require pliers to press in would not work

Works great. Video after install
Followed the Diesel Geek install instructions but put the big white bushing in from the other side. Great and resolved my poor shifting. I excellent dit on 2001 Audi TT MK1 (180 HP)

Poor quality!The most important bushing failed before my first 10 miles. All other parts, let see how long last.
