Emporia Touchsmart 4g mostly good compared to Nokia and other flip non smart phones.
I've looked at most non smart flip phones and the Emporia has got to be one of the best. You get to choose either whatsapp or Telegram, not both so I used Whatsapp. It can handle calls text and voice text. The text is slightly small but readable. The touch screen is really handy. The messages layout could be done better and the vocal aid is pretty good. Petty the manufacturers didn't allow for message light to flash on the external screen. My wife who is partially deaf doesn't hear when a text is incoming so relies on an external indicator to notify of either new message or missed call. This phone has its pro and cons, but mostly pros.

Customer Service NOT helpful when you need it
I have bought a second Emporia Touchsmart 2 phone for my 92 year old mum as we were pleased with the first one, just the buttons had been playing up after 4 years and the battery life was dipping. The second we set up at Christmas with her old EE sim card. Everything was working then suddenly she didn't received replies to my texts that I had sent back immediately. Then the phone really played up. We were advised by my own mobile supplier to try a new sim. This arrived last Tuesday, I set it up with the help of EE customer services but no matter what we did, we couldn't get the internet to work or the Whatsapp. The ordinary texts and calls worked and once we'd tried the new sim in the old phone ascertained it must have been a setting on the phone not working or set up properly so it was back to Emporia customer services. I made a call, had to give an email address and it was suggested I turn on the mobile data! I calmly informed the lady that I had tried numerous things with the EE but yes, turning on the mobile data had been something I'd actually thought of all on my own. There are so few 'settings' on the phone it's a total mystery how we can't find the thing that makes the internet work! I've had an email back from Emporia with suggestions but although easy to follow, I can't find the topic Application > SYSTEM in any of the settings as they have stated to enable me to go to Reset and then Reset Network.Today I left a message on a number which said leaving my details would mean they would get back to me between 12 midday and 4 pm. They have not. I've left two further messages pleading for some help as this is a 92 year olds phone which helps her feel connected and I have it with me today but I need to drop it back to my mum asap! Then I won't have it to work on or have it to work with wifi if necessary because she doesn't have internet at her flat.I am pretty disgusted at the lack of interest because these phones promote themselves being for the elderly, for people who need simplicity. It might be simple to work but it's sure not simple to set up.If anyone from Emporia is bothering to read the reviews, perhaps you can respond because this will be the last Emporia we buy as customer service is KEY and you are not supplying that.
