(live video test & demo) 2nd One I've Bought!
The media could not be loaded. ✏️ Quick thoughts to supplement my video demonstration.📍 Are there enough stories? Incredible number of stories (over 200)--this thing is THICK and solid. I'm surprised this isn't a $50-70 book.📍 Message content: Is it accurate? I liken this Bible to "The Message," in that it's a paraphrase. Really I am ashamed there are some who claim this Bible "isn't detailed" enough or doesn't represent the Bible... that's because it's not the Bible. Similar to the Sistine Chapel, it explains Biblical truths in an engaging, dramatic, and artistic way that is relevant to our culture's art-form (i.e. graphic novels). In the same way it would be unfair to see the Sistine Chapel and complain how Michelangelo painted Cane and Able in the nude. It's an artistic interpretation. But yes, it can and will definitely get people closer to God, in the same way our great Christian artists move and inspire people towards God using their artistic talents. That said, it's not a replacement for the Bible. But an awesome tool nonetheless. Get it!📍 Are the illustrations to graphic? No, they're tastefully done. Actually considering the Bible's rather violent history, there should be a lot more blood. But there's not. I'd rate this PG depending on the maturity of your child and his/her understanding of Biblical text.📍 Who's this for? I'm 29 years old (Theology Major too), and I love it. Perfect for teenagers or kids you're looking to get hooked on Biblical studies. Buy several and give them away as gifts!📍 Bottom line: would I recommend this product to one of my friends?👍 Yes, absolutely.

Bought As Gift For Nephew, Wanted To Read It Myself!
Until I found this book on Amazon, I didn't know they made comic book Bibles. I looked at a couple other Bibles and decided on this one based on the Look Inside function. When it arrived, I unwrapped it to write an inscription on the inside for my nephew's 15th birthday and I leafed thru it and showed my husband. I am quite impressed with the artwork! And with the story context. As a 40-something year old adult, even I was drawn to the stories and the art. Each section is 1 to 3 pages long, perfect for today's youth and their shorter attention spans, and I was really drawn to it. I believe a child or teen who would never sit down and read the Bible would happily read this book, and probably more than once, and probably even share it with friends and peers. It's not the King James, certainly, but it gives basic Biblical concepts and stories in a format that will attract and keep the interest of its readers. The chapters and verses the stories reference are clearly marked at the top of each section so the reader can pull out the KJV or NIV and read more to find out what happens next.As for the one I bought, it's all wrapped in birthday paper and packed into a box to mail out of state, but I wish it wasn't! I would go read it from cover to cover right now. I hope my nephew will do the same.

Awesome--Fun Bible for the Whole Family
The Bottomline for the Action Bible is that my son and daughter now show the same enthusiasm for reading this Bible as they had for comic books. The graphics are super; they are on par with the best graphic comic books. The writing also incorporates action-oriented writing in the comic book genre into the Biblical narrative. The writing and graphics bring the Bible to life in a way that is unique to the Action Bible. For some background...I am an Anglican Priest who has studied Hebrew and Greek and references various Biblical translations in my studies, and I am thrilled with the Action Bible as a new approach to introducing my kids to God's Story. Obviously, this is no replacement for literal translations and interpretations of Scripture; however, it is not merely for fun either. This presents the Biblical narrative in a unique and awe-inspiring light. The Action Bible creates a fast-paced exciting tone that grips readers and draws them into the action of the stories, miracles, struggles, triumphs, failures and life of Christ and the church. It opens the door to conversations about the Bible and its teachings that allow parents to set the context and meaning of God's story and its message to young readers.Personally, I think the Action Bible has a greater draw to youths than traditional super-hero comics; it serves as an added resource for discipleship and as a tool for building relationships with children.

(with great quality and graphics)
Perhaps it's a little early for me to post my review, since it arrived 'sealed' (in cellophane) and, since it is a gift for my 9 year old grandson, I want to keep it that way. From what I was able to view online of this book however, including a short video with several pages displayed, (with great quality and graphics), I am confident it will be a wonderful gift for my grandson, who is far more likely to want to read Bible stories because of it's 'comic book' telling and hence bringing the characters and stories to life for a young mind/boy. In saying that though, ADULTS TOO have found the 'Action Bible' compelling, interesting, exciting, and informative. I hope others will consider this for a gift, or even for themselves to read, from this review. Such an innovative way to draw people in to the Bible, and/or help them understand stories that many may feel are archaic and not relevant today. They most certainly are! God loves you enough to want to 'reach you; even if HE reaches you with a comic book rendition of "His Word"!
