First of all, the price is amazing! I got the unflavored version to avoid all of the sweeteners and extras that I don't want. Kinda has a hint of vanilla, otherwise not much flavor. Dissolves easily in water. Just mix it with a spoon. Feels like a quality product. I usually mix it in a cup of water with other powders like creatine and such and drink it all in one go...

I have been using this for a few months already and really like it. First off, unflavored is so much easier for me to drink - no cloying artificial extra-sweet flavors that get annoying after a week, like virtually every flavored whey protein. I just throw it in a little blender with a small amount of milk (doesn’t taste as nice with water) and it’s ready, super easy to drink. Occasionally, I add a spoon of cocoa powder or a few frozen berries for flavor. You can of course add sugar if you want but the sweetness from milk is enough for me personally. Being unflavored makes it also easy to add into recipes if needed. I like this particular brand as there is nothing extra added, seems good quality, and is priced fairly.

This is my new favorite protein powder! Flavor: I don't like flavored protein powder at all. I think they taste bad and the stronger flavor is harder to cover up, and the added ingredients definitely aren't worth it. This powder has straightforward ingredients, and while I can taste the whey protein if I mix it with very plain foods, it isn't necessarily a bad taste and it's so easy to cover up with a stronger flavor, like peanut butter or chocolate or berries. Clumping: I've gotten used to only adding protein powder to smoothies because so many of them clump, but today I added this one to oatmeal and the oatmeal is great! I could definitely taste the whey in the plain oatmeal, but I never eat plain oatmeal anyway, I just tried it out of curiosity. My favorite way to eat it (which doesn't taste like whey at all) is with just a splash of maple syrup in the oatmeal itself, topped with homemade blueberry syrup (just simmer some blueberries with maple syrup and it keeps in the fridge for a week or maybe even two) some banana slices, almond butter slathered directly on the banana slices, and a few chopped pecans or walnuts for texture. I love that I can have this breakfast now without having to worry about getting enough protein. I will warn that I only added about 1/3 scoop per oatmeal serving, because there is also protein in the oatmeal itself, almond butter, and pecans. Adding more powder would be an experiment but worth a try for anyone who has higher protein goals. The point is, this is the first powder I've used that works well in things other than smoothies, and that speaks more to me about the quality than anything else.

This should be the new gold standard whey protein. This review is specifically for the unflavored version 5 pound tub. This product contains only whey protein concentrate powder. There are no other ingredients. After Consumer Reports published their findings of lead and heavy metals in almost all major brands, I reached out to nutricost with my order numbers and batch numbers. They responded the next day wry the COAs. Their COAs were sufficiently detailed and proved that the heavy metal ppms were way below the safe threshold for daily use. Their COAs also included tests for ecoli and fungus which were not detected. There's always a few ppm of heavy metals in the environment (food & water) which get concentrated up the food chain and during processing. Such low concentrations of heavy metals indicate diligent process control and high quality of feedstock. If you need whey protein powder, this is the way to go. Mix your own sweeteners and flavor to save money and reduce your exposure to carcinogens. Here's a bonus recipe for pre workout smoothie. Drink this 2 hours before a heavy lifting session. 22oz magic bullet blender cup. 1 cup / 140 gms berries (your choice). 1 scoop / 2 GMS taurine. 1 tsp sunflower lecithin (phospholipids and prevents bubbles). Optionally, 1/2 scoop relyte or your choice of electrolyte powder. 1 scoop or 6 gms collagen powder. Optionally, Coconut water for fluid or use water. Pulse blend a couple of times and drink up. Add some cereal or bananas if you're planning to lift heavy. The collagen and berries slow down digestion just enough so the smoothie doesn't run through your digestive tract, the coconut water and electrolytes keep you hydrated so that your muscles work optimally in the gym. Taurine blunts doms.

This has become my go to protein! I really like the unflavored version because I find most flavored types much too sweet. I also prefer the unflavored because I can put it my coffee or other drinks without it affecting the flavor too much. In my opinion, it has a subtle milk flavor. I mix this into yogurt as well to bump up the overall grams of protein. One of my favorite combinations has been the following: greek yogurt, unflavored protein powder, peanut butter, and some berries. I also use this in combination with a vitamin mix (AG1)...it's results in a little strange flavor profile but I get my vitamins and protein all at once. (Works for me if I am in a hurry) I have wanted to change my diet so that I consume less sugar and artificial sweeteners, so this protein powder perfect. It dissolves just as easily as any other protein powder I have used, other than ISOPURE.
