A great GPS dash cam in a small package.
There seems to be a million rather cheaply looking dashcams that throw out false specs like “4K”, and when you dig into them, they aren’t 4K, upscaling to 4K IS NOT 4K video. The false and misleading advertising immediately canceled out all these cheap end cameras for me. There are true 4K dash cams out there, but they were out of my price point. So, I landed on the Garmin brand, which is a well-established brand and the app had great reviews, 4.75 stars (I found most complaints were user error). After watching numerous YouTube videos and written reviews comparing them, I decided to go with the 57(the camera itself had great reviews, I found the majority of negative reviews were people upset they didn't get a 16gb memory card, which seemed trivial). To me it was the sweet spot, the 67W was too fisheye video, the 47 dropped in video resolution, and mini2 had no GPS. I ordered the Garmin 57 camera and added a polarizing filter, and a 256gb card. Received it the next day and set it all up and installed it in 30ish minutes time. Set up was easy and straight forward. IOS phone app is easy and straight forward. Everything worked great and I found everything easy to use. I find the video quality great and good enough for me. I found the unit smaller than anticipated, which is great as I mounted it right behind my rear-view mirror. Blends right in, I don’t even see it, even from the outside of the vehicle it’s not that noticeable. Has more features than I even use, which I’ll take, better than lacking in features. I like the ability to do voice commands, verses fiddle with buttons or the app to do simple tasks, which work every time. I learned the polarizing filter is a must have off other people’s YouTube videos and reviews, and it’s no joke, it’s a must have. It easily removes 95% of reflections off the window and improves video and pictures. I have not had any issues with it connecting to the phone via phone app, connects every time. It’s made in Taiwan, with quality materials, and doesn’t seem cheap in anyway. The video is super sharp and enough to prove who is at fault in any traffic incident. Night video is also very good. Plates are readable out to about 40 feet, 40-60 feet you’re guessing, beyond 60 and you can’t make them out. The GPS and speed stamp are very accurate. I’m very pleased with the Garmin 57 and have no complaints. I have uploaded a picture of it mounted to show how "out of sight, out of mind it is to the driver", and all the items that come in the box. I didn't upload any cam video or pictures because there is plenty on youtube and other peoples reviews. I'm very happy with my purchase and have no complaints. Highly recommend.

Takes great video and just so-so stills. Constant peace of mind. Runs constantly while driving.
My second Garmin 57. Wish they would change the software so that a GLV file is not created for every saved video, it takes up a little space on the video card. when the video card gets full it overwrites previous files as needed for space. I'm using a 64GB card. It is always running when my truck is running. I don't download any videos to my Laptop unless there is some kind of incident that I want to keep as record (traffic stop, accident, road rage, animal encounters, etc) It's a plug and forget safety camera.

Great camera!
Very good quality camera, trustworthy brand for me. Easy to use and has really convenient menu. Saves collision themselves and even separate it into separate folder. Great quality video and pictures, functionality also great. Highly recommend

Works like it should
Works perfect! I didn’t use the mount it came with I used a bulletpoint mount on my dash. Great picture quality. I do wish it was a little wider capture though. That’s why only 4 stars.

No SD Card included. False listing claim.
Amazon listing and Garmin website say, with this model, the SD card is included or pre-installed. It isn’t. The slot is empty and the camera tells you that upon start up. There is no SD card in the box.

Great camera for the price
Camera works as described. There were other cameras out there but Garmin is a name I am familiar with. I have had other Garmin products and was pleased with them. The phone app is also very good.

Works, but included memory card did not. Additional $needed to be spent to use the dash cam.
The included memory card (that was loose in the box) was rejected by the camera as “incompatible” I needed to purchase a class 10 memory card to make the dash cam work. After that it did its job and works fine but be warned that you will likely need to make an additional purchase before you can use your camera. This was a birthday gift that was to be installed in my wife’s car after she opened it, which obviously did not happen.Bottom line: Needing to purchase another card negated any savings on this purchase.

With a garmin Dash cam I feel safer.
Garmin makes a great product, and this is one of them. Small and compact, yet the recordings are crystal clear.
