when you use RF meter, do the radiation levels go down when case is on? I have meters to test and have tested some cases and the levels do not go down

Please rest assured that you are being protected from the EMF radiation emissions that would have otherwise been penetrating into your body (in the direction of the shield). We do not use typical consumer test equipment in a home environment when measuring the EMF from devices while used with our products because they can give misleading results. In fact, different meters will give completely different results, which makes the issue even more confusing. Without a clean environment, with known transmitters and calibrated receivers, measured results can be inaccurate given many variables. Most testing meters are omnidirectional, meaning they measure EMF in all directions, and cannot switch to directional, or toward a specific source or direction. This means that when you are using the meter in an unpredictable, spiking environment, influenced by reflections and other sources, test objects can have other unknown influences that corrupt the readings. Complicating this, if the test meter is closer than 12 inches, the reading is unreliable. The meter will not work because this is known as a “near field” signal that often drives the meter haywire. These fields are not fully formed transmissions and lack the x, y, and z, 3-axis transmission. Consumer meters are not capable of such measurements. More reliable readings can be measured when a test is 12” or more away from the source. Then, of course, shielding performance is not being measured because you are too far away. To eliminate these issues, we utilize an FCC lab that specializes in RF/Microwave testing. The lab uses directional measurement in an isolated environment, which eliminates all external influences, ensuring no test result interference.
