The outer edge of these speed rings are too wide to fit my Paul C Buff softboxes however I did find a way to justify keeping them. They are surprisingly solidly constructed and the price is better than any other options that I found. So rather than gamble and buy more expensive speedrings I used the extra money to buy a tabletop mount bench grinder and with the grinder I shaved them down to fit my PCB gear. You can trace the outer edge of the PCB speedrings onto these ones to give you a visual reference of how much needs to be shaved off. (approx. 1/4 inch)

I've got four Elinchrom long throw (29 deg) reflectors, and over time two of them had damaged tabs on the bayonet mount. I drilled out the original rivets and replaced the damaged mounts with this Fotodiox ring secured by small bolts and nuts. Fit was so good and the result so solid I bought another two and replaced all my mounting rings with this unit. Great quality at a non-Elinchrom price.

The cutouts are not made correctly so it does not lock onto the BX500RI flash units. Octagon fell off my flash and broke modeling light and flash tube $150 mistake! I also bought a set of matching speedrings from the same company and they have the same issue. Comparing the elinchrom adapters to these fake ones you can see that the fake ones are close but do not match in one key area which keeps them from being able to rotate into the locked position.Plus, customer service is slow, few and far between. I'd give 0 stars if I could.

Upon receiving this I immediately knew It would bend if dropped or with slight pressure. This speed ring appears to be made of light weight aluminum which has its pros and cons.

Fits well my d-lite rx 4. It is made of a light metal.

I have Elinchrome D-lites...the old ones not with RX and I purchased a beauty dish that required a Speedring. It does what it is designed to do! I can use the Fotodiox Beauty Dish with my Elinchrome Studio Strobe.

This product is NOT for the regular Elinchrom studio flash/strobes. These have 3 slots and only two slots are correct configuration. Do not purchase if you have pro series or D-lite or 500/600BR. See my photos.
