anybody got a cat that does excessive licking and biting of her body, I'm trying to find a new food that may solve this problem, hoping this one will

excessive grooming is a sign of allergies and not due to emotional reasons unless there has been a sudden upset/change in the cat's life, such as a move etc. the adding biting and licking are sure signs of a food allergen or environment . majority of time it is due to food allergen. chicken, fish ( not mussel or shell fish ) eggs, beef , rabbit , lamb , pumpkin, carrots, potatoes , etc are a main allergen for cats along with grains/legumes . there are more but these are most common. my cat tolerated lamb for several years but alas i had to change back to the venison. the chick peas have altered the ziwipeak formula and they also are a known allergen . of course you pet may not be allergic to these proteins but they are a starting point you may consider. my cat has inflammatory bowel disease with other health issues due to her so called healthy vet diet food. she experienced the over grooming, biting , scratching , licking and sometimes vomitting until i ceased all typical cat food and started her on one portion no carb diet, testing her as to which portion she would tolerate. lamb & venison , also kangaroo and few other proteins. as i previously wrote, she is now allergic to the lamb. i finally found a holistic vet . but since i eliminated the known allergens she hasn't experienced any symptoms until the lamb. this was 9 years ago and now my cat is almost 18 yrs old. i know the devastation and stress ( along with the potential serious health issues ) food allergies may cause. i suggest you google Dr Becker and read her suggestions/articles regarding cats. it's a start. dogs & cats aren't meant to eat a carrot nor a chick pea! lovely vegetables in our pets food are there to please us not our pets. fruits and vegetable etc are not something our cats/dogs search out in the wild let alone in their own back yard. mice/birds/lizards but not blueberries or potatoes on the side. i do hope you cat has improved.

How bad is the tetrasodium pyrophosphate?

We buy the mackeral + lamb, which doesn't have any of the TTSP or guar. Ours love Ziwi and immediately took to it. It's gotten hard to find healthy, clean cat food that isn't chock full of questionable meal, ground bones, potatoes and all sorts of crappy fillers. Taurine is found in organ meats and fish. The ingredients in this Ziwi cat food have both so there is no need to add Taurine to it. It is already in it. if you want actual numbers, you should call Ziwi directly.
