Could not be simpler nor work any better.
I installed 2 of these along with my starter kit to move my Foscam cameras off of the Wireless network and onto a more reliable wired connection. They work great and I would recommend them to anyone that wants to move to a superior wired-style network but does not want to pull a bunch of Ethernet Cable through the wall.I purchased two of these adapters as well as the TL-PA4010KIT AV500 starter kit. As usual (when they don't use USPS), Amazon impressed and got them here in two days and very protective packaging. The adapters and the kit are packaged in similar boxes and include the modules and a 10 6-foot white Ethernet cable for each. A manual and easy-to-understand quick start guide is also included. These could not be much simpler to use. First you plug one of the modules into the wall and run an Ethernet cable from it to your network source (ISP router, switch, etc.) and connect the Ethernet cable to it. Lights on the module will confirm you are connected and receiving network traffic. For each additional module, simply connect the Ethernet cable to the device you want on the network and the other end into the module. Plug the module in. Press the small square button on the module then press the same button on the module connected to your network source. A light will flash on each while pairing. When the light goes out, you will see similar activity lights on the new module showing the are paired and the network works. Repeat this process for each additional module you want connected.Performance is hard to test from a camera since they are not high bitrate devices, but I am able to sustain 1MByte streams from 4 devices simultaneously and reliably. That is what I bought them for an I could not be happier.I also run a complicated Insteon Powerline automation network in my house and found these adapters do not cause a problem. Insteon commands are just as reliable as ever and do not seem to affect network performance. The same can be said for network utilization not impacting my Insteon devices. If you want a quick, simple and reasonably priced method to create or expand your Wired network, look no further. These are great.

SO Thankful For This Technology!
This, is an AMAZING product that I'm elated to know even exists. Our house has 2" plaster walls that make our WiFi extremely spotty - especially when it has to go from our office at the end of the house to our living room (and thru a brick fireplace). My other half has been wanting to extend our WiFi with special devices that will amplify the signal, but I have health concerns about this.Enter TP-Link. I had *no* idea this type of technology even existed, but boy has it been a win-win for both of us. We now have no lingering debate about my not wanting additional WiFi radiation in our home vs. his wanting to stream TV shows 3 rooms away from the wireless router. Yay!I was able to hook this up with no problem whatsoever. They give you everything you may need, and make it absurdly easy. Just hook one unit to your router (with the provided cord) and plug it into an electrical wall socket, then plug your other unit into another wall socket of your choosing, then press the "pair" button on both units & let them sync. All that's left is to plug your other (provided) cord to connect the 2nd unit to your desired device. We now use it to watch Netflix from across the house, with no cords, and no worries about adding to the possibly harmful WiFi radiation. It's a heck of a lot less expensive than having the house professionally hardwired by a tech, or continuing to throw money at an overpriced cable subscription. All the commercial-free TV we want for $9/mo. No skipping or jumping either. The signal is as smooth as warm butter. It's also no more expensive than buying the WiFi booster he wanted in the first place.Thank you TP-Link!!! :)One more important selling point for me is the fact that this device only takes up ONE socket, and in spite of it's size - doesn't need to block the other one.

Test multiple rooms/circuits - your wiring may be the limiting factor!
This powerline adapter does what it is supposed to. I added it to a previous network on similar powerline adapters that I have. It properly synced up with the other devices. It stays connected 100% of the time, even after the power goes out. It reconnects automatically, which is nice, since mine are behind furniture. And it does send the internet from device to device via the electric plugs. Note that you will not get the full speed of your internet with these devices. Half speed at best, I usually get about a third. And note that the wiring in your house plays a huge role! I've tested in most rooms in my house. Some rooms I can get half speed consistently. Other rooms, which are on a longer circuit, I don't get nearly as much speed. Before you blame the devices, try it in a few different rooms and plugs in your house. You may find that some rooms just don't work as well. That is not because of the device, but just the way your house is wired. Older wiring and long circuits will slow your speeds down. Also make sure to test the connection when large appliances are being used. Sometimes this can affect your speed and connection as well. Don't learn the hard way like I did during an important work meeting when your wife turns on the hair drier!
