We purchased for back pain and use it for that, but I secretly just leave it under the covers and turn on before I get into bed during the winter! Love the heat options! Be careful! The hottest gets hot! I also love that it automatically goes off after a certain amount of time! It is durable and is going strong!

This blanket is wonderful. It warms quickly and evenly, it’s very soft and light and I found the controls very easy to navigate. The light does go off but you can pay attention to where the red button is and feel the button on the side which brings the heat up or down in case you want to turn it down or up during the night. I have two of them, one for the guest room and they are designed well and work well. I printed my order form from Amazon and saved the warranty so it lasts for 5 years. I highly recommend this electric blanket!

Mostly I use the blanket to pre- warm the bed. It does a god job. I have noticed on those few nights I've turned it to low instead of off, it doesn't give off much warmth. Do no feel the wires, which is a big plus. I gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons. The on off button and temperature indicator does not stay lit. If you want no light in your bedroom, that's a good thing, but I prefer being able to see the status without having to push the on/ off button. Second, the cord from the end of the bed plug, to the bedside table for the controller is J-U-S-T long enough. I have frequently pulled the controller off the table when making the bed. Another 10 or 12_inches would be good so there would be a little play.

This is a very nice size for cozy nap or book read... it's big enough to lay over a twin or double and prewarm the bed. The faux fur is very soft on both sides. The big satiny care label is on the lighter faux side as is the plug in attachment. It runs for 4 hours and auto shuts off. Six levels of warm - I put it on 6 and it took less than a minute to begin to feel the warmth - while it took about 5 minutes for it to fully warm. The wires that produce the warmth do not go all the way to the edges of the blanket, but within about 5" or so - with corners about 6 or 7" from the wires - in case that matters. I have not washed it yet - but the label does outline specific guidelines for washing - such as prefilling your washer which may be a problem for front loading washer users. I have a non electric faux fur blanket that I have machine washed and dried for years even though it says to clean using a "furrier method"... and have had no problems machine washing and it has WAY longer 'fur' than this really short pile faux fur blanket has. I think it will do well in a delicate wash with delicate soap. Having said all of that, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. They did send a card that says "Congratulations You won our special FREE GIFT." Yeah. I never sign up or take those - but you might get a free magazine subscription or something. I never accept ANY compensation of any kind for my reviews, period.

Love the electric blanket all cozy and warm.

I really like the softness of the blanket and the evenness of the heat throughout the blanket.BUT ... you never know if the blanket is ON or OFF! There is no ON /OFF button. You can set the temp, and you can set the length of time it will be on, but NOTHING indicates if the blanket is ON or not. It lights up as you change the settings, but then the light goes out, and WHAT? Is it On? Is it Off?I thought Westinghouse would make a better all-around product, but it's obvious the technology and directions are not up to par. The directions were written by someone for whom English is their 2nd language. I'd send it back, but a blanket is a large item, and I just don't want to go through the bother. But trust me, I'd never buy this blanket again, and I would not recommend it for the reasons listed above.

Perfect for my needs

The blanket is as advertised. It does what it’s supposed to do. My main critique is that I can really feel the wires in the blanket. I’ve owned other electric blankets, but I never felt the wire so much in those other brands. You know it’s in there of course, but it’s not very well concealed with this blanket. The controller screen does fade quickly as other people have commented. But I don’t adjust the temperature that often. I find the one setting that’s comfortable for me and keep it there. It does remember your previous setting choice, so that part is nice. It doesn’t have a preheat setting like my previous blanket. Or if it does, it doesn’t work well. Overall, the blanket does what it’s supposed to do. I’m just not overly impressed.

Do not purchase this item.It stopped working after just 5 months and the seller was unresponsive to my attempts to communicate and address the issue.The costumer service was awful.

This was what kept us through cold weather. It's soft and gets warm fast.
